Is it possible to import a 16 bit file into a 24 bit recording session?
If no, can you 'upsample' that 16 bit to 24 so you can import it?

i think its up to your recording software.....N-Track can handle 16bit and 24bit files in the same project.....
yes you can convert a 16 bit file to 24 bit....it wont change the quality, but if your multitracker only works with one format at a time, this will do the trick.....

thx for the help,
the software is nuendo, but I never worked with that before, so I have to ask the studio engineer.

i use nuendo 2.1.1
yes nuendo can import a 16bit file into a 24bit or 32bit float project.. you can keep it at 16bit or upsample it to 24/32
