It's so nice of you to remember your old friends at this holiday time of peace and goodwill.

Have a very merry Christmas, Ed, and the happiest of new years to you and your family! :)

Hey Glen. Here is a mix and "mastering" job I did for a real life person from here! It is Chris Harris and his daughter Jaimee. Yes Glen, I do REAL audio work, complete with samples for all to hear. I let my skills be MY long winded posts! ;)

And for good measure, I played and recorded the distorted rhythm guitars. ;)

Now you see Glen, the way this works is that now YOU post a mix that you did of somebody. And everybody will oooooo and ahhhhhhhhhhhhh over how much better it is than my work here. I mean, with that "over 30 years experience in this business", you should have some pretty stellar stuff to share.

Coincidently, here is the un-mastered track. I did this mastering job in a BEDROOM that was UNTREATED, with PLUGIN'S! I spent all of about 20 minutes working this.

Sounds nice, but I can't make a comparison. The original file is a dead link.

And then we'll break out the tape measure so we can find out who has the biggest dick. WTF is your problem dude?

I'm looking forward to hearing some of Southside Glen's work. I have no doubt that it's very high quality.

And re the OP's issue...

I had a CD mastered a while ago by a pro... cost me around $700. Best $700 I ever spent. Both for the resulting sound (got good radio play) and for the studio sit-in experience (I never learned as much anywhere, anytime).

YOU don't have a problem with a guy who boasts about how "experienced" he is in audio production, yet won't post examples of his work? Glen DID post a mix once. It was SO freakin' amateur you wouldn't have believed that he had ever recorded a band before! I am totally serious! I have heard better FIRST efforts from people!

I just like people to be on the up and up. Glen isn't. He passes himself off like a great audio engineer with a plethora of wisdom about audio production, yet cannot prove, and downright REFUSES to! I know why, but you guys haven't heard it for yourself yet.

I'm not sure I would call anything I've ever read from Glen "boasting". I honestly could care less if the only work he produced consisted of him sampling and looping his own farts. He offers good well thought out advice in a easy to understand manner. The articles on his site are extremely helpful. I've probably learned more from Glen than I have from anybody else on this board. Maybe his work does suck. Some people are much better teachers than performers. I doubt that though because someone with the amount of knowledge he has should be able to pull off something reasonable no matter how much of a tin ear they may have.

It doesn't matter anyway. I won't take anyone's advice as gospel. If I get suggestions from someone I try it myself and make my own decision as to it's validity. Regardless of their body of work/reputation.
So far I have had excellent results with some of the methods Glen recommends. That's all the validation I need. On the other hand I don't think I've seen a single productive post from you and the majority have been childish and pointless. That song you mastered sounds good.................. and exactly what does that do for me? Got any info on what you did to that track to make it sound like that? You could be the best producer/engineer to ever walk the face of earth, but that doesn't contribute jack squat to this site. People come here to learn and discuss audio production not compare their audio wieners or to marvel at the production skills of others.

So how about it arisen? Put up or shut up. How about a post or two that shares some of the knowledge you obviously have with us noobs. Maybe drop in the MP3 clinic and give some people advice on their mixes.
Plenty of people asking for help on these forums. Put some of those skills of yours to good use.

No need to do that. I know I already win! ;)
I said see who has the biggest dick not who is the biggest dick.
Sorry couldn't help myself.:D

Jerry, I think Glenn needs to stop being so mean...and Ari needs to calm down because God...and the bible...and stuff.

I do doubt! But I am probably the only guy here that can speak from experience! ;)
I've heard Glen's work before and it was pretty damn good. I've also listened to you bad mouth him for years. Why don't you just over yourself - your shit is OLD!

Alot of us here, if not all of us, appreciate the effort Glen puts into helping. It's a whole lot more than you've done. Oh I'm sorry, that's right you can't help us when they ban you for being a horses ass. If being a good engineer has anything to do with being a respectable person I'd have to say he has it all over you.

Aaaah, it's been a long time since we a good old fashioned flame war around here. :D

Desperate? Hey, there's a rat after pa!

How about getting a job? You could make that much in a week or two at freakin McDonalds. Is not his time worth your time? Charity begins at home dude.

I need a 4 or 5 hour rush job.... Waaaaa.......need any cheese with that whine?

What is it about the internet that turns normal people into gigantic pricks? Jeez dude, I was looking for a budget mastering house and you crucify me. What a piece of work you are ya douchebag. Figures you'd come from New York. That state grows douchebags in giant fields.
