whoa mang, thats some heavy heated shit. 14 years old?!? i dunno mang... thats some good shit i gotta admit. poetry and politicz is a tight song, but seriously this is really good shit, especially considering her age. mc's should take note! i mean the lyrical content is FANTASTIC (ive heard better, but at 14, theres SOOOOO much time to improve). good look up homie

Wwhen I was dropping conscious rhymes about those topics at 14, people kept hating on me. I'm happy that this sis is getting recognized for it.

yeah man, shes damn good, especially considering her age.
She has a carrer undoubtably.

I dunno. Good, yes. Career, maybe not.

Remember, nowadays what's considered rap music by record labels is Southern garbage (not to say that all Southern rap is bad; there are LOT of Southern artists who are good such as Scarface, Red Cross, Outkast, etc.) with a techno-like synth beat with bass and someone shouting about sex over a track but it's considered rapping for an inexplicable reason.

things change though,

remember it wasnt too long ago when tribe called quest, wu tang clan, arrested development and black moon were dominating hip hop

I know - that's the sad thing.

DAMN! I miss the old school.

But I think Talib Kweli's new label is gonna help out the rap game a lot by signing conscious artists. That's my dream label personally.

Listen Up !!!!!!!!
Everybody Thatbeen Crying About "ohh What Happened To Hip Hop" Peep Her Link. Wargasm You Outdid Yo Self Ion Finding This One . Good One ...naw Great One Man.

Ok she's 14, but music will flow more in due time. She's lyrically on point for her age, but first things first, she needs to get her education on and continue being a teenager. She gets too heavy off into music now and it's possible Michael Jackson syndrome (reliving childhood at age 30, not molesting children). I think she has a career but she has time to grow and expand her niche...conscious rap still has a place in mainstream. The only problem is that it's overflooded with crunk and soon to be hyphy.

Do I see anything wrong with those types of genres? No, everything has its time and place. I mean, hell I still listen to old CDs from 90 - 95 like they were new cuts. But in the same respect, I like some of the newer stuff too. I just think that there's too many imitations of other folks out right now. Carbon copies will get old and then be replaced by something else.

Feiva,

It depends though. I'm fifteen but hip hop is what keeps me going. I'm one of the people that gets hated on the daily- it's my release and creative outlet.

I concentrate on my education but rap is important to me as well.

Theres artists making a decent living off their music that most people have never heard of. It depends on how you define 'success'/'career' I guess.
but not having mainstream appeal, doesnt mean you cant make a living from your music.
