$1200 to spend on mics, help me decide.

I have a project studio where I record my bands stuff. Here's the gear I'm currently using:

Digi002R w/Protools LE 6
PC - 2.4 Ghz, 1G Ram, 200GB HD
M-Audio BX8
Presonus Central Station
ART VLA Pro
(2) OSA MP-1C
Safe Sound P1
MXL V69 Mogami
CAD m179
Oktava MC012
SM57
Senn E609 Silver
Audio Technica ATM-25

I have about $2200 to spend. Around $1000 or so is going to a Distressor, I'm pretty sure, leaving me with $1200. I want to spend the rest on mics. I was thinking of either getting an all around higher end LDC mainly for vox (U195? 414? TLM 170?) or splitting it up and getting a Beyer ribbon and a Shure SM7 and maybe another solid dynamic like an MD421, 441, or something similar. I like my V69 on vox, but I have a feeling there is something better around. My voice is quite similar to Chris Martin of Coldplay.

If it helps we are going for a Radiohead/Wilco/New Order sound.

Any thoughts, suggestions?
 
You might also consider a matched pair of SD condensers and an SM7 or EV RE20. That would round you out pretty nicely.
 
Matched pair of SD Peluso CEMC6 mics for instruments. There's a shop that has/had a couple of Gefell LD mics on sale (excellent pricing). Sorry, can't remember the name, but someone on this forum mentioned. Maybe they'll mention it again.
 
I have had matched mics and never liked the sound of "natural" stereo. Call me crazy. I do drums in mono as a rule and if I ever do want to do stereo I get a fine sound from mixing/matching mics.

That Gefell looks cool....

Which particular stereo methods didn't you like?

I think you're on the right track, here. Some good options. Based on the kind of music you like, I might go for the ribbon and dynamics, like you mentioned. I know Jeff Tweedy uses the sm-7 a lot on their records, if that means anything. Then again, it might be nice to have one really good condenser, too. If you have no way of trying anything out on your voice, then you might as well just flip a coin.
 
I forgot, I have unlimited access to an AT4050...that pushes me towards the SM7/Ribbon route. What's the difference between the Beyer ribbon models?

Also, the Peluso 251 knockoff...multipattern, tube, I could probably sell my v69 if I got it. Good idea?
 
4060 is a totally different creature than a 4050. aea r84 ribbon is pretty cool
