$119 for a "box"?

I'm thinking about marketing a pot with a wooden spoon as a musical instrument.

How's $220 for a MSRP?

I'm also working on the "tin cup against the prison bars" or tasse de bidon contre les barres de prison as it's called in French.

All percussion instruments are essentially just boxes and sticks if you look at it that way ;)

I'm sure there is some type of tuning involved in the construction.
 
A Cajon is indeed a box. However the construction and air spaces create different tonal areas (higher pitches and lower pitches). They are actually fun to play (like a Djembe or Conga)

I use to sub for a Cajun/Zydeco band that wanted to "appear like a backporch "jug band". The "drum set" was made up of plastic garbage cans, hubcaps and various pot and pans - but when the set was mic'd and EQ'd it sounded pretty good.

The most clever application I ever saw - the drummer with Manhatten Transfer did a song (with brushes) on a new "hi-tech" instrument - it had a model number in bold black letters - BX-1.
It was a cardboard box.

You ca make music with almost anything if your try!!!
 
This is one of the most versatile percusssion instruments I've come accross. Aside from the cymbals they can replace a set of drums in a small acoustic (unplugged) set up. I have seen it used in flamengo gigs as well as other types of music. The sounds range from very low (kick drum like) to snare tones for the highs. I believe some even have guitar strings inside than can give a nice sound (although not the original version). I have actually been looking for one, the peruvian version. Really beautiful sound, don't be deceived by its look.
