10 posts just to use pictures?

I just wrote a long post about my newly buildt homerecording studio. Along with it I attached 7 pics from my own domain showing my equipment, but when I was about to post it I got an error message. It said I had to wrote 10 posts before I could use external links. Do I really need to do that? I mean, I know I can upload from my computer, but I am using an ipod and its easier to use pics I have already uploaded to the web. Is there no way to go around this?

There's a thread just to get your 10 (no content) posts in. Yes, its necessary - keeps some of the spammers out.
