...If I'm not mistaken, you've got your connections backwards. The left lug on the output jack (black wire) should be grounded, and white should be connected to center lug on the pot. Are you getting signal at all?

I would reheat those connections and use a bit of rosin flux to get it to flow better. Especially the ground connection from the 3rd pin to the volume pot itself.

NEVER reheat solder connections. It all but guarantees a cold solder joint. If it's not right, remove the solder (I like a solder sucker, but a solder wick works well too, and in some cases is better), and start over. When you reheat a solder joint, any crystallized solder in the joint just ends up making new - bigger - crystals, which of course is the whole problem in the first place. Solder joints should be neat and shiny the first time you heat them, or you should redo them from scratch.

Yes, I played it through the v-amp and it does have a signal, and the volume pot works, just a loud Hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I haven't re-worked anything yet. I might wait and buy a new pot. It sucks really, I'll end up paying more for shipping cause there is no one within 100 miles that has a 500k audio taper pot.

Thanx for pointing that out. That was the problem.

I started at the pot switching wires and nothing, then went to the output jack and switched those around and that fixed it.

No hum at all. and the regular humbucker sounds way better with my 18 watt clone than the ESP's that were in there.
