I've had problems w/ bad connection on the 1/8" line in input on my computer--have to wiggle just right so that it will get stereo sound, rather than just left or right, and it often displaces during recording. Anyway recently bought a new computer and same thing is happening. Have ruled out all other options but input jack/computer. Is this common? Any ideas? Thanks a lot.

From my experience it's something that not all that uncommon. Those sockets are just not built to have something plugged in and out regularly.

not to mention the weight of your plug bends it all out of sorts especially if u have a 1/4 going into a 1/8 plug in going into your comp

Try anchoring the plug with duct tape (sorry I'm a musician) and stabilizing the wires.

thanks

thanks for the reassurance-time to break out the duct tape. guess i should've researched the possibilities of a computer w/ some hefty input jacks if such a thing exists.
