So as I said in a previous thread my first gen G5 imac crapped out on me today. We were right in the middle of a session and it just shut off, powered down. I tried to restart it and it got to the password screen and did the same thing. I've got a really good pc and I need to record this weekend, I stand to make over a grand and have to have the means to record. So I'm fairly sure I'm going to GC first thing tomorrow and picking up the new version of Cubase. My question is will it work with my 002r and if so where do I download the asio drivers. I've seen a few threads over at gearslutz where people said they used that combination but I'd thought I'd ask you genuises first. Oh yeah I forgot, I'M FUCKING PISSED!!!!

Take it to an Apple dealer. There's a recall on some of those related to bad caps on the logic board and/or power supply. Assuming yours qualifies, it should be covered even out of warranty if that's the problem. Here are the details on the two recalls:

That said, even though the first gen iMac G5 is really easy to service, I'd still be amazed if they could have you up and running tomorrow, so that probably doesn't help you much for this weekend. Maybe they'd have a loaner or something. Worth asking before you go out and buy more software.

Ok I couldn't wait and had to track this weekend so I went out and pulled the trigger on SX3. I owned SE3 when it first came out so I figured staying within the same generation was a smart move. Of course someone will probably come on and tell me I'm wrong. So I've read the manual and purchased the SX3 ignite book. They really helped me figure out how to get everything up and going and all it all the session went well. Now it's mixing time but I can't figure out how to route the outputs to my monitors. It only seems to work with stereo out but then if I chose that option panning doesn't seem to work, what am I missing here? Sorry I really try to read these manuals but I have an honest to goodness reading problem where I have to read things many many times over and still don't get it. It' took me well over a year just to figure out how to set up a click track in ptle and the only reason I figured it out was because someone posted a video tutorial. Anyway, if you anyone can help I'd really appreciate it, I've downloaded tons of free plugs so I have a bunch of toys to play with but I really need to be able to pan stuff.
