£3000 studio?

I am planning to build a studio and have a budget of around £3000 ($5500)
I need a COMPUTER with good soundcard and RAM and storage. (£600 tops)
MONITORS mackie HR824s (£600 roughly)
MICs
CABLES
MIC STANDS
12 preamp audio interface

Can anyone help me choose a suitable 12 input preamp audio interface?
I am looking for decent preamps. ie not beringher. I could probably spend up to £1000.

I know i might not be able to get everything i want for £3000 but i should be able to conjure up another £500 or so.

Also another question. How would i connect this setup together. Would i be best with a firewire from my audio interface to my computer as this would save me money on cables.

Right here is how far on i am with my pricing so far.

TOTAL £2480
so i have around £520 left which i could add another £500 if need be.
All i need really is a decent 12 mic per amp mixing desk or interface am i right?
