First one is mono, second one stereo. This is happening because L & R inputs are panned to the center (for monitoring). If the UR22 has a control panel you should pan the inputs hard left & right.

Probably because most folks here are recording and mixing. However I feel that I can't find great bass sounds that often. What I'm looking for are fat analogueish bass sounds.

I don't hear any voices in the original recording so all you are making louder is just noise. Nothing to do about it.

What computer do you have? How much ram, processor speed, operating system? Have you tried reinstalling Cubase?

Price for the Slate system seems to be 2k. Includes one of each mic, pre and plugin.

Perhaps there is a plugin in the signalpath you are overdriving (if you are using limiter/compressor you could be reducing levels too much it starts to distort). What are master meters showing on you DAW? Does the distortion appear when you export your track and listen it on car stereo etc?
