Friends! My 246 Portastudio has been almost completely revamped, thorough cleaning, changed the belts - it runs well, but occasionally 'eats tape,' is this a situation where the pinch roller needs replacing? thanks!

There seem to be two counter belts on the 144. I can easily get to one of them by taking the back panel off, but the second one is buried underneath the transport block. Has anyone attempted to replace these? Would i have to take the front panel off?

Clean, working, worth 100USD? I don't see much talk about the 144, is it that much inferior to the 244 and/or 246?

I just picked a clean one up really cheap at a surplus auction. Anyone here ever use one? What are they good for? I thought it might be fun to record drums through them. How the heck to you get phantom power into these things? (if it's still possible)
