miced the classical guitar and banjo with 2 karma K10 mics in xy patern pointing at neck and body/sound hole.
bass is di.
i tried to eq it and scoop out where the bass drum sounded nicest. i think it was around 70ish.
boosted a tiny bit around 3-4k...
I have a question about phantom power... i just got some sdcs. so i have had them up a lot and was wondering about leaving them plugged in. does it matter that they sit around with the phantom power on... does this lower the life expectancy ? should i turn phantom power off whenever i dont use...

first thing i recorded with my samson cl7 that i bought from a friend because he doesnt really use it.

so, my basement project studio is growing and soon i hope to feel pretty confident in my ability to record a pretty decent demo.
While I have always recorded myself ( on drums, guitar, bass, vocals --- tiring to do everything ) I would love to be able to record other peoples stuff too...
i have started recording drums... and was placing mics here and there to get a good sound. then i read about particular techniques. so i tried the recorderman with 2 sm57s and i am very pleased at the improved sound quality.
