Hi, just plugged in my Io26 and when I'm monitoring it on my computer, I've got the insert in input 1 coming up as inserts 1 + 2 on the direct monitoring...and insert 2 coming up as 3-4 etc etc. Anyone know why this is doign this? This is kind of urgent as we're meant to be recording in an hour...

Hi, I've got an Alesis IO 26...I was recording 4 inputs the other day into Reaper on a Macbook and it was all ok until I unplugged the interface and then plugged it back in again. It showed up that there was 8 inputs being recorded (8 LED meters lighting up) and I couldn't record it on Reaper...

Thanks guys, great advice I'll definitely take. Did a few trials on the DAW, it sounds ok and you're right...it's the same principles really. I think with the 488 I assumed it to be lo-fi but it isn't really...not a bad thing though as I know more about recording than I did before! Thanks again.

Standard sort of band set up really...so drums, bass, 2 guitars, vocals. I have microphones and instruments but I'm thinking I can apply my knowledge from using the 488 to the DAW with regards to EQ and stuff...

Ok so I have a macbook and an Alesis IO26 interface...I also have a Tascam 488. I want to use stuff like reverb and compression on my tracks but I haven't got an effects rack or anything so should I just record straight into the DAW? I have Reaper but am thinking Logic Pro looks easier to use...

Hmm thanks for the input guys. I wouldn't say I have a high range, perhaps mid-range to high at a push, not sure if I can change that or now. Perhaps I'll get it with practice though...

Ok sooo I haven't got a reverb unit but I want a reverb effect on my vocals for a track I've recorded on my 488 cassette. Would it work to record the vocal onto the computer, add some reverb in the DAW the record it out to the cassette? Or is there an easier way round it? Thanks for your time :)
