    GarageBand

I need some help from those of you who have experience recording with GarageBand. I just purchased a new Carvin mixer, and am using it with my Macbook (GarageBand - hence the title of this thread). However, when I record guitar or bass (I haven't recorded anything else yet), it is very VERY...

    Recording with Mixcraft

I clearly knew nothing about recording back then (at the time of the first post). If anyone happens to come across this forum and don't know how to record multiple tracks in Mixcraft, it's very easy. All mics will record on one track.

    Mixers, Mixers, and more Mixers!

Alright, that's awesome. Thanks a lot. Any other recommendations for USB mixers (the one you previously suggested is $80 extra to ship to Canada) I need at least 6 mic inputs for Mics, and 2 inputs for guitar/bass.

    Mixers, Mixers, and more Mixers!

So is going from Firewire to USB REALLY a huge difference in quality? I know for sure that my Macbook does not have firewire (look it up and verify yourself if you'd like). And again like I said, the Firewire to USB cable I bought works with a PC and the mixer, but not the Macbook and mixer.

    Mixers, Mixers, and more Mixers!

I am very sure it doesn't have firewire. They removed the firewire from Macbooks a couple years ago, and everyone was outraged. Macbook PROS and Macs still have them though.

    Mixers, Mixers, and more Mixers!

I currently have a Phonic Helix 18 channel Firewire mixer which I have connected to my PC, and I record perfectly fine with it. Recently I purchased a Macbook, which does not have a firewire input. Recording music being one of the main reasons I bought this Macbook, I have decided to buy a...

    Recording monitors

I really have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to this; im slowly learning as I go along. I do have a dedicated space for mixing. Right now I just play the recording back through my computer speakers (5.1 setup) so I would like something that is actually meant to be for studio...

    Alesis MultiMix

Alesis Multimix 16 Channel Firewire What do you guys think of it? What are the ups and downs of it? I'm assuming it will work well enough for recording guitar, abss, vocals and drums (5 drum mics plus condenser overhead). I'm looking to Multitrack...

    Behringer

The main thing I'm looking for in the mixer is that it has at least 8 mic inputs. Ill have 5 or 7 (not sure yet) drum mics, plus a condenser as an overhead mic.
