    My studio construction thread

Lookin' good Mr. Strat!! Man, I don't know why, but I thought for sure you built a studio behind your house a couple of years ago.... maybe that was Greg L.??

    Wedge's or In-ear?

I love in ears..... especially for vocals..... I can actually hear myself, which helps me to sing in tune. Peace!! ~Shawn

    output click/metronome

It took more energy for you to complain about how much work it was than it would to actually do it. If that's too much work for you, then you may as well forget recording yourself, and getting a result that anyone except your mom will want to listen to.

    output click/metronome

Load the LM7 drum synth VSTi, then make a midi track with the ouput of the midi track going to the LM7, and fill up the midi track with 1/4 notes of your preferred sound for use as a "click".... finally export the output as a wave or mp3 and give it to your buddy. :D ~Shawn

    Mesa EXPRESS 5:25

For what it's worth, here's a clip of my 5:25. http://www.lightningmp3.com/live/file.php?id=15082 I'm wondering of there isn't something wrong with mine.... when I have it in 25 watt mode, it's as if it has extreme "sag." Like, I hit a percussive note, and the output loudness goes down for a...

    Ezduzzit

Dude.... this is awesome!!! I love the drum sounds.... yay!!! Well, I love the way it all sounds. :D But, I would really really really really really really really really love some more volume on the main lead guitars when they are playing a "solo" of sorts..... please????? It's a rockin'...

2 Songs for review. I love you all.

Very nice work, indeed. If it were me, I'd make these changes: More bottom end. We must have bass!! The distorted guitar in the first song is so buried, I'm not even sure that's what it was. Bring it up a bit, and double track it, (or something) to make it stereo.... big I say!! We need BIG...

    I shouldn't post this yet..

OK man.... You've got quite a few great ideas here. Too many, I think, for one song. You've got enough ideas for maybe 2-3 songs here. I know, I like all of the parts too, but I don't feel like the song is taking me on a journey.... it's more like a random hike through a beautiful woods.... but...

    Mesa EXPRESS 5:25

I own one, and have a hard time getting a sound I really like out of it. SC is right.... don't buy this amp unless you have the $$ to get at the very least a decent compressor to use with it. You can get some good Brad Paisley like tones out of it if you are very careful. I paid $1149 for my...

FInally finished! - Faeries in the Glen

Sweet!! You've done a great job of not leaning on the percussion for the rhythm, but the guitars. That's something I'm trying desperatly to accomplish! Well done! ~Shawn

"Muse" with real drums from acattoir!!!!

Too funny Mr Strat! This is my Vox Tonelab into the power amp of my Crate V-32, miced with an sm57. The Tonelab was set with an ac15 preamp model, and no speaker cab model. The biggest thing I can share with you that I've learned about guitar tone is this: use a compressor before the amp to...

"Muse" with real drums from acattoir!!!!

Do use plugins to compress and EQ or do you use the ones in your drum programme? Most programmes like Addictive Drums, Battery etc. have their own effects and I've always tried to use those, albeit with unsatisfactory results:o. I use Battery, and ouput the snare, kick, and toms to their own...
