Sampling rate - which one to use?

I've been perusing the numerous posts regarding sampling rate at 48khz vs. 44.1khz. I've found a lot of great information but there are a couple of questions that I still have. I have a SBLive Value card, which I know internally processes at 48khz. I understand that you can record at this...

    Good Monitor Mixer

I know what you mean about the pre-fader sends. The current mixer I'm using has 1 pre-fader send and 1 post-fader. Believe it or not, the post-fader send works OK for a cue mix, because of the headphone distribution amp I have. The band member who has that AUX can turn their amp up as loud as...

    Good Monitor Mixer

That's an interesting idea going to another mixer via the insert points, however, which insert points do you mean? Do you mean each channel have an insert out into line in in the 2nd mixer? Just want to clarify. Thanks A couple of other questions I had as well: 1) You mentioned that I may...

    Good Monitor Mixer

Thanks for the reply littledog. Yes, that is what I was afraid of. You mention the Mackie. Behringer also has a mixer, the MX2642A which also boasts 6 aux sends, but only four of them are addressable at one time. This one seems the most affordable at $250, especially for what I'm using it...

    Good Monitor Mixer

I'm looking for a good mixer for my four piece band that will allow for four separate headphone mixes. I would like to use a headphone distribution amp as well that should have 4 inputs (from the mixer) and 4 outputs (for the headphones). I've heard that you can use AUX sends to accomplish...

    Need a good recorder....Please Help!!

The MX2442A has 16 channel inserts (to go with the 16 XLR's), so you can output the signal of each XLR channel into a multitrack recorder. You will need to find a recorder that accepts 10 inputs to record a 10 tracks simultaneously. There are other options here as well with your subgroups. I...

    Behringer Warranty

Does anyone know what kind of warranty Behringer places on their products? I downloaded the manual of the MX3282 mixer, and in the warranty section it says that they have an extended warranty but it does not say how long. Anyone know?

    I need a critique!

Hm, Chuck, so you do this as a source of income? I may be interested in your services...I see you live in Nashville, I live in IA. Have you ever done things remotely? We can go offline if you want to. Email me at nwomacks@yahoo.com. Nate

    I need a critique!

I have to agree with WATYF...man it really sounds good, and it's great music too. I'm a drummer, and I've always wondered the best ways to record drums with a DAW, running through an multiple input/output sound card such as your Aardvark DP 24/96. In my case, I would be running through a mixer...

    I need a critique!

Hey Chuck, so you did this completely home based - instruments/vocals into a mixer - from their into your PC with Cakewalk? Is this mastered or anything? Production sounds great.

4-track output into mixer line in

I have a vocalist who just purchased a Nady ear monitor. The mixer we're currently using is an old Neotek, and it does not have any aux or monitor outputs, mainly because it's a recording console. So we're unable to hook up her ear monitor to our Neotek. We do have a four track though... I...

    channel inserts?

Excellent! Looks like it's exactly what I would need. You think Radio Shack has something like that? I might check that out.

    channel inserts?

So the bottom part you're talking about is the 1/4" stereo end and the top you're talking about could be RCA connections (two mono)? Why would you need to solder anything?

    channel inserts?

Really? That works? I'm looking at the Delta 1010LT - I don't see any 1/4" inputs on that thing, just a bunch of RCA inputs. Would I just need an adapter then (1/4" to RCA)? Also, with your 1/4" cable, do you have it halfway plugged in like EZP was saying?

Live volume vs. recording input volume

Yeah I've bben thinking about getting the Behringer MX2004. It has 8 channel inserts, which is what I'm really wanting it for. Just to go from the mixer to the Delta. I've been going back and forth, on whether to get a Mackie or a Behringer. I've read a lot of posts on this forum on this...

Live volume vs. recording input volume

Yes, we are recording a stereo line from mixer into the SBLive. Our mixer is a VERY old Studiomaster something or other. I can find out, but it's an eight channel power mixer, I think 100W (50x2). I'd say the thing is 70's. It does say two buss on it, so maybe it has two different busses but...
