Singing and Playing at same time.. tips??

Yea, this advice is probably the best I've heard yet! I try to do this alot, where I'll just mubble while I'm playing my guitar, and when I get used to WHEN I mumble and how much I do, it makes it a little easier to start turning those mumbles into words! I've noticed Dave Matthews doing this on...

Singing and Playing at same time.. tips??

i think my biggest problem is accidently focusing more on making sure what i play on my guitar sounds right, rather than making sure i'm singing the lyrics to the song the way the song is supposed to be sang. sometimes i'll catch myself accidently matching the note im playing on my guitar...

Singing and Playing at same time.. tips??

Thanks songright! Which do you guys usually do first when writing a new song.. lyrics or guitar? Or which would you guys prefer assuming the guitar parts are a little mix between complex and simple? I've started writing two new songs where I've made the verses I sing a little easier to play on...

Singing and Playing at same time.. tips??

Believe it or not I can play the beginning of "So Much To Say" by Dave Matthews along with the first verse... but as I get more into it, I tend to forget to move my mouth towards the mic again, haha. I've got a bunch of lyrics written for some of my songs, and so far from what I've read it's...

Singing and Playing at same time.. tips??

I've been playing guitar for 3 years, learned on my own. But that's the thing, I've only played guitar... so singing! Well... I can sing, and I have lyrics written, it's PLAYING and SINGING at the same time is what I'm having trouble with! I'm always being told by family and friends how much...

Hahaha, that's funny.. I went to Guitar Center a few hours ago and this was actually one of the first things this guy pointed out to me (along with a couple other pieces). I've just got done reading alot of reviews on it and it looks like it might be a go if I don't find anythign else that...

Toneport vs. Guitarport w/Rifftracker vs. M-Audio Black Box

I have the Riffowrks program for my Guitarport. And to be honest with you, I'm not all that satisfied! And nobody better tell me that there's any kind of difference between using Guitarport or Toneport because Riffworks works the exact same way with both. Riffworks is nice to use to record...

    Line 6 Guitar Port

...and what kind of computer you have. Make sure your computer is fast and powerful enough to handle your interfaces... that's what's going to give you your choppy sounds and distortions if you're running the interface off a 1960's computer, you know? But sometimes it's also not going to run as...

Plugging Mic into GuitarPort? It's all too technical for me...

I was totally unaware that you could record your voice through the Guitarport! haha, I figured it was only for recording your guitar!

Whats the best interface for guitar/vox/bass??

Same here! Really, any Line 6 product is good (Guitarport, Toneport UX1 & UX2). Getting used to them doesn't take very long at all! These Line 6 productis comes with Guitar effects software with them, and have tons of presets (for Cabs, Amps, etc.) whether its an Acoustic or Electric. Each...

Help with setting up new equipment!

NOPE... dont go from 1/4" to 1/8", because it's going to screw up the quality of the sound, regardless what kind of soundcard you have!! And like CoolCat said, a little more specific on the speaker type would help! And what's plugged in from what to what? Most likely you may just have the wrong...

Sony Acid 7 or Cakewalk USB Music Pack?

Same here.. only because I've worked with Acid Music Studio for a few years now, and Cakewalk just seems like you have to learn how to use music editing programs all over again, u know? I also have the guitarport, with the gearbox software that came with it. I figured I'd give the Riffworks...

    On-the-Road Recording.. suggestions =)

Thanks for the help, everybody!! I've been looking up alot of digital recorders (and by the way, I'd prefer a digital over a cassette), and I'm trying to learn more about what kind I should get. The more I think abotu it, the more price isn't much of a concern. I'm willing to spend anywhere...

    On-the-Road Recording.. suggestions =)

I have a ($400) Yamaha Acoustic. I recently bought the LR Baggs M1 Soundhole Pickup for it. I've only been playing for about 4 years, learned on my own.. On my home computer, I have just a simple Line 6 Toneport that (to me) is GREAT for scratch recording of ideas and new songs in need of...
