I was wondering if anyone here either: knows how to replace the nut of a bass, or a site that can explain how to do it? I just called my local music store, and they said they were going to charge me 60 bucks an hour to replace my nut! 60 DOLLARS!!! On top of new strings, thats goign to come...

I have a 5-stringed Oscar Schmidt Washburn bass. The E-String Rattles like crazy, but only at the First Fret (or at least, if I hold down the 1st Fret the rattling stops). I've tried raising the string (I raised it higher then the B string) and it seems to have gotten a little bit worse...
