The difference is usually write speed and "book" with Red Book as the standard for ausio I believe. I'm looking into the Alesis CD burner... has Mastering stuff and is a hardware unit. It's costly though..... Terry

Sounds like the audio card... go into the audio card setup and see if something got set to Mono. Terry

Well welcome to the club. I installed ME on two completely different machines and have trouble with both. On the machine with Cubase it crashes constantly w/ver 5 R1 of Cubase. The strange thing is after about three crashes it runs great till shutdown. I'll up greade to R5.05 this weekend...

I can't imagine the MB not seeing the drive speed. Sounds strange. In any event, the BIOS would be what to update. I'd suspect the Video Card...double check the BIOS settings. Try setting the amount of disk space for TEMP files manually rather than letting Windows manage it. Terry

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I do have a MIDI interface. In fact, it is a USB MIDI Man Two port. Cakewalk will record to digital audio as long as I use the sound card in the computer. However, I cannot seem to get it to display Soundscape IN and MIDI Port Out. Perhaps I can try the settings...

I get the feeling that the effects is not being sent out through the ADAT/Direct Bus. I record with effects...but when playback the signal is dry unles I add effects to the ADAT 9-16 Anybody else experienced this? Terry

I don't use the sound card in the computer. My synths are external. Other than the obvious way of through the mixer, how can I port the MIDI OUT to and Audio track IN? Terry

Any digital info. needs a clock sync of some sort. ADAT sync can be sent through the ADAT pipe....I think....on equip designed with that purpose. What sound card do you have? Terry

We ordered the Mixtreme with the ADAT option. I also have a digital mixer with ADAT out if needed. We didn't get the power pack....didn't seem much in the software. I'm looking forward to the card. It's becoming a standard. Terry

Hhmmmm....the sync could be a problem. Does the sound card require ADAT sync? If so, then you have to find a box or add on card. Also, the word clock should be able to be unplugged from the VR800 and pluged into the sound card...is the sample rate the same in both the card and the VM200? It...

VM200 Use the ST BUS (Stereo Bus) if you don't want to use the SPDIF out. I suggest the SPDIF it's cleaner. Terry
