I have a Line 6 Toneport UX2 that I use for my interface, and I notice that it doesn't have a midi in, does this mean I can't use an external midi controllers with my interface? Or is there some way around it, like a plug converter? I would really like to be able to use the M Audio O2 midi...

Actually, I didn't download any pirate software, I just ordered it from guitar center last night. I have dial-up internet, so I'm not able to download large programs. I was able to follow you very helpful instructions, however, I'm not able to efficiently put together anything with reaper...
I guess this is all just going to be answered with the same kind of "whatever you prefer" sort of response, but anyway, I was just wondering if there's a certain rule of thumb anyone uses for getting the different parts of songs down (lyrics specifically) It seems I struggle with breaking away...
since this is a vocal thread, I was wondering how much of a difference a Pop filter for an MXL 990 mike makes. I'm interested in recording vocal and acoustic stuff. I have the mike, and was wondering what anyone thought?

If so, are there any precautions I should take into concideration, or are there any "must have" drivers or updates or anything like that?

thanks for replying, I followed that the whole time, and loaded and applied drumatic 3, but am not getting any sound through the chanel once I do that. If I apply VSTi: ReaSynth (CocKos), I do get sound, but in a beeping-bleeping form. Do I need to still do something to Drumatic 3 first?
thanks for your thorough help. I tried to follow, and could sort of do so. I downloaded Rez 2.0 and drumatic 3. I just saved them in a standard folder on my desktop. When I tried to run the programs the computer wanted to know what program to use to open them up. You may have already told me how...
