Christmas Song. Please rate: Is it worth a "buy"/"listen"/"delete from your harddisc?

Well, all I faked all I could - even the bass guitar is sampled. The only thing I wasn't able to fake were the vocals so I didn't even bother to put them in. The "christmas" in the title basically just refers to the date of the tune's creation, not to its mood or something. Thanks for...

Christmas Song. Please rate: Is it worth a "buy"/"listen"/"delete from your harddisc?

Christmas Song. Please rate: Is it worth a "buy"/"listen"/"delete from your harddisc? Hi guys, this is a little piece I came up with during the christmas holidays. I'd be glad for some comments on its - melodic quality - arrangement and - production. The guitar track outlines the basic...

Finally found a decent vocalist - check him out!

Thanks for your comments. I'll let the singer know what you guys think. He's the best singer I could get hold off - which isn't that easy. He's german by the way - that should explain the accent. Any comments on the compositon? Is the song worth buying if it was recorded professionally?

Finally found a decent vocalist - check him out!

Here's the first song of mine featuring an actual singer. What do think of it in terms of composition and (vocal) performance? http://www.last-nite.de/upload/Stoerte.mp3 Also: Does anyone have some advice on mixing this highly dynamic stuff? Looking forward to your comments Stoertebeker

Check out the world's first Rock-Classic-Techno-Crossover

That was the hardest part, man. It took me hours to get it right.

Check out the world's first Rock-Classic-Techno-Crossover

Nope, more like THIS I added a Maiden-like B-section with harmonies that finally blend with the A-section in "perfect harmony". I'm still not happy with the intro but nothing better came to my mind. Hope you like it.

Is this ballad better than average? Feedback (and singer) needed!

As Rick mentioned: To make it a ballad the song needs a good set of lyrics. Well, I haven't a clue yet what to write about. Do you associate anything lyrical to my music when listening? What theme would you consider appropriate given the mood of the songversion of your choice? I'm sure that...

Is this ballad better than average? Feedback (and singer) needed!

Thank you all for your comments. Instead of going for the a standard band-like instrumentation I gave the symphonic approach a try (once more ;-). And I'm surprised how deeply an orchestra can enhance the emotional impact of certain parts. For my taste this is the best solution: symphonic...

Is this ballad better than average? Feedback (and singer) needed!

@sikter: This is how it might sound as a pop/rock version. I increased the tempo by around 30 bpm and changed the arrangement to a more band-oriented one. You have to imagine the vocals, though: poprock-version

Is this ballad better than average? Feedback (and singer) needed!

Is this ballad better than average? Feedback (and singer) needed! [Added rockversion] Another rough sketch of a ballad I'm working on. In it's current form its supposed to be a duet between piano and vocals. As I haven't found a singer yet, I replaced the vocals by violin. duet [NEW]...

Check out the world's first Rock-Classic-Techno-Crossover

What would you expect/like to hear as a B-part? More of a synthesizer/techno sort of thing or rather a calm orchestrated part? With guitar/without guitar? Or maybe something entirely different? Any suggestions?

My inofficial contribution to the new James Bond Soundtrack

With this song I tried to capture some of the musical signature elements from the famous 007-OSTs without simply plagiarizing them. Imagine this piece underlying a wild 007-action-sequence with its occasional quite moments - do you think it would fit in a Bond movie? Besides that how would...

Check out the world's first Rock-Classic-Techno-Crossover

In this piece I tried to integrate elements from the genres rock (guitar), classic (strings, clean guitar) and techno (beat, bass). Now I need your fresh ears: Does this work out? What are your pros and cons on composition, arrangement, produciton, etc MP3, 1.6 MB Tranceguitar.mp3 I'm...

    Something for all guitarplayers/guitarlovers [Metal]

Thank you for your ideas and opinions. I agree on the slightly too loud organ sound. The clean guitar chords could be spiced up a little, as well. For those wondering about the guitar tones: They're coming from a Line 6 PODxt straight into my Soundblaster Audigy Player (very pro, indeed!)...

    Something for all guitarplayers/guitarlovers [Metal]

Hi, this solosection is part of a larger song that I'm working on. As a means to measure it's quality, I'd like you to rate this piece on a scale from "Must buy" to "My ears hurt". What do you think? (Given you're at all interested in metal and/or guitarplaying) MP3 / 2.2 MB: Solosection...

    Guitar meets orchestra

Thank you all very much for your comments! The dynamics issue many of you mentioned will be the next thing I'll put my hands on. I'm currently listening to Mozart's Piano Concert No. 40 figuring out how to make best use of an orchestra's dynamic range. By the way: In all versions the clean and...

    Guitar meets orchestra

The new "new" version! I realized, that the new acoustic section didn't do it for me, so I reworked the thing in large parts and added a completely new beginning and ending section + re-recorded the best guitar parts of all versions + changed orchestrations: Guitorchestra What do you think...
