Yeah. The bass isn't very present. VERY soft sounding bass. Almost sounds like an upright? :confused: The acoustic sounds OK. I think replaying the bass would be the ticket or live with the soft bass. Apples and oranges Dave

Yep. I know one vocalist who mainly uses delay for a similar effect of a room verb. It works good and I've been trying it more. You have to experiment. Maybe both but sparingly on the verb. Dave

Reapers a pretty good free program. I know quite a few guys using that one. Seems everyone likes it once the brain gets around it. A bit heavy on the verb but sounding pretty good. I like your vocals. Have you tried using delay on the vocals rather than verb? Dave

It's the tone of his amp. It has some weird harmonics in the mid range and sounds like a single 10" speaker. :rolleyes:

Vocals are buried. They need to come forward. Drums sound roomy. Maybe too roomy? Maybe bring the guitars a dash forward and bring up the vocals for sure. You could also double the vocals ever so slightly to give them body. That lead guitar is grating. Yuk!! Can't change that. Maybe a bit of eq...

That is a very broad question. Assuming your upgrading to quad core (PC) or Macs latest greatest then software is a personal choice. Midi controller is the same. It's just a controller. For me my biggest bang for the buck was getting a GOOD soundcard with good Mastering grade 24-bit/192kHz A/D...
