Make My Dreams Come True - feedback pleasee

Can I get a download of this? I wouldn't mind adding it to my list of songs for my studio. I like to put on some good music when I'm puttering about the studio and this has that upbeat feel that I like. :D Dave

Make My Dreams Come True - feedback pleasee

Love this kind of straight ahead rock. Sounds really great. You have a live band feel going which I'd give high marks for. I think it needs some keys. Maybe a touch of B3. Nothing too over the top. Nice one guys!!:cool::cool: Dave

a new melodic hard rock boogie from Bat's Brew

Nice tune. No nits from me. Everything sits nicely. A good example of a tune out there that kicks to what's heard on the radio. Nice one!! Dave

New Mix - Why am I Alone Again - drummier!!

Sounds awesome Gary. I listened to the earlier mix as well. No nits from me. Love the guitar soloing. Excellent tone and playing. Dave

Metal Mix, good enough for real cd? Check it out!

Yep. That made a huge difference. It was sounding thin for such hard rock

Have A Little Faith In Me - cover

Yeah. The bass isn't very present. VERY soft sounding bass. Almost sounds like an upright? The acoustic sounds OK. I think replaying the bass would be the ticket or live with the soft bass. Apples and oranges Dave

whats wrong with this mix? indie/rock (goodquality)

Cheers Jeff. As I say "Forever learning" & "Still learning to play the damn guitar!" It's listening to different mixes and the comments that help me to hear my own songs better. It's easy to make comments. It's another thing being on the mixing board. And often it comes down to personal taste...

whats wrong with this mix? indie/rock (goodquality)

Actually sounds pretty good to me. The drums do seem to be lagging a bit. Could be the odd drum pattern in the main verses. The choruses sound fantastic. Much fuller than the verses with the cymbal rides and lead guitar bits. The guitars seem a bit too much mid for my tastes. Getting kind of...

Have A Little Faith In Me - cover

It's easy to say do this or that but it's quite different when your mixing. It's different when your actually mixing and listening to the song over and over a zillion times. Maybe the bass needs more bottom. Maybe the guitars need less. Just gotta play to get that nice balance. Once you open up...

Have A Little Faith In Me - cover

Cool. I have EZ and use it often for composing. It's perfectly fine for a final drum sound as well. I usually try to dig up a real drummer for my final songs just because I like the human touch that I can't get from midi. I could but it's time consuming. Ok, listened a couple more times. The...

Have A Little Faith In Me - cover

Yep. I know one vocalist who mainly uses delay for a similar effect of a room verb. It works good and I've been trying it more. You have to experiment. Maybe both but sparingly on the verb. Dave

Have A Little Faith In Me - cover

Reapers a pretty good free program. I know quite a few guys using that one. Seems everyone likes it once the brain gets around it. A bit heavy on the verb but sounding pretty good. I like your vocals. Have you tried using delay on the vocals rather than verb? Dave

    "Hurts So bad" by Thyrium

It's the tone of his amp. It has some weird harmonics in the mid range and sounds like a single 10" speaker.

    "Hurts So bad" by Thyrium

Vocals are buried. They need to come forward. Drums sound roomy. Maybe too roomy? Maybe bring the guitars a dash forward and bring up the vocals for sure. You could also double the vocals ever so slightly to give them body. That lead guitar is grating. Yuk!! Can't change that. Maybe a bit of eq...

First attempt at guitar / bass recording myself.

I've been playing for 40 years and 'I'm still learning to play the damn guitar!!' :laughings: Sounds pretty good. Timing is good. There's only 7 major chords. You have three of them down and the hardest ones. 4 more to go!! Dave

Quick mix of an almost finished tune....

I listened with just one speaker and now my head keeps falling to one side and if I try to walk my one leg won't move so now I'm walking in circles. Is it supposed to do that?

    First time here

That is a very broad question. Assuming your upgrading to quad core (PC) or Macs latest greatest then software is a personal choice. Midi controller is the same. It's just a controller. For me my biggest bang for the buck was getting a GOOD soundcard with good Mastering grade 24-bit/192kHz A/D...
