    Delta66

I've used the Delta 66 with Cubase and with n-track, both with success. Seems to be solid, reliable, good quality card. Make sure you use the lastest drivers and that you use ASIO... I recommend Win2000, as well, as I had some problems under Win98 -cdr

    Multi Processor Systems

One advantage of a dual system from a user comfort level is that even when it is chugging at fxs or whatever, the gui is still responsive. It feels much nicer...

Have you looked at the Houston? MAN, that thing looks hot. Not 'zactly in my pricerange, though... I'm bidding on a PC1600x on ebay now (so none of you steal it from me!)

    Mackie 1604 & Motu 2408

mastahnke : Well, I find it quite noisy... just not generally very nice. One of the sets of jacks doesn't work properly in normalled or half-normalled mode, either. Not happy with it, much happier when it goes away...

    Multiple Delta cards with Cubase?

Running Cubase 5.1 on Win2000 with Delta 66. Everything is working fine. Wondering whether or not adding a Delta 44 would work - I want the extra IO.... My understanding is that it should - anyone ever done this?

    Remote for Cubase - PhatBoy?

Hi, I'm looking for a good remote for Cubase, to control the track and master faders (preferably the ability to start/stop recording, too, but that's optional) I know the PhatBoy has some knobs, and I think I can make it work, but is there anything that has faders and buttons and is reasonably...

Cheap and Good 8+ XLR Mixer

The Carvin looks good. I wish it had faders and mute buttons, but.... Hmmm. I can't believe it doesn't have mute buttons

Cheap and Good 8+ XLR Mixer

The problem is that the smaller Behringer mixers only have 2-3 preamps, and the bigger ones are just overkill.... Doesn't anyone make a reasonably priced mic mixer?

Cheap and Good 8+ XLR Mixer

Thanks. Hmm, so it is, I guess, a used Tascam or a new CMX... Ponder, ponder

    Mackie 1604 & Motu 2408

That looks right to me, too. I use a 1604 with a Delta 66 on a PC (I think I'll pick up another Delta 44 and drop my patchbay in the garbage (damn piece of Behringer junk (yes, I know, I know, you guys told me)), but that's beside the point) That is exactly how I have mine set up (though mine...

Keyboard rec for a friend's daughter

A friend of mine's daughter is a music student in highschool at a Performing Arts school. She wants to get her a keyboard for Christmas without breaking the bank and she's asked me for recomendations. What she wants is a nice feeling keyboard, preferably 88 keys and a reasonable selection of...

Cheap and Good 8+ XLR Mixer

I'd like to spend about $300... I will spend up to $400, but would prefer to spend about $200 :) (USD) I think what I want OUGHT to be available without going overboard, but... The CMX16A looks about right, except I wish it had real mute buttons. And I really don't need all those bells and...

Cheap and Good 8+ XLR Mixer

Mmmm. That Nady CMX16A looks pretty nice. Anyone have any experience with it?

Cheap and Good 8+ XLR Mixer

Day job is being insane - well, I'm working 1 1/2 jobs, so that's not surprising. Got married - I guess that qualifies as new :) Budget is as loooooooow as I can get... I'd actually even consider Behringer - it isn't like I'm recording this to stand in the annals of history - its just a bloody...

Cheap and Good 8+ XLR Mixer

Hi, all. Long time (busy, busy, busy) I'm doing mixing now for my church - cool, get to get used to doing some live stuff, no problem (though the ministers keep passing the lapel mike back and forth and it is tricky trying to figure out who has it sometimes :) ). However, they've got a 4...

    Zep Butchered! Your Autopsy Please...

The guy who runs our local jam night does a beautiful heavy metal version of "Brown Eyed Girl" Absolutely PRICELESS... he's a career musician, so he gets that song requested every damn night practically (sometimes more then once) so when he thinks he can get away with it (ie, when the audience...
