    Fender Strat recommendations

There is so much to choose from but here it goes. I have three strats custom built by myself and I have different pickups in each. In one I use lindy fralins, another has Jason lollar, and my other one has lace. I would recomend finding an older strat with the combo of blue neck, silver middle...

    Mic reccomendations please!

I would recomend an M-audio solaris. It is just undeer $400 when I bought mine, but would not trade it. It has a very clean sound and has alot to offer. It has a bass roll off, -10db pad, and 3 patterns to choose from. I have had no problems with it. The best thing is too, I use a mac and am...

How many tracks do you use to record drums?

use as many as needed depending on the kit. Also the type of music. I like to have all drums mic'd that way I can really get the sound of the kit to stand out. Also good drums make all the difference in the world, along with good tuned correctly heads.

suggestions on what mics to buy for recording drums

Hey there. I would highly recomend you getting some e/v nd468 mics for the toms. They sound very natural and capture the tone nicely of a tom drum. I use them on my tama star classics and man do they sound good. I also agree with the other post. TUNE THEM CORRECTLY! most people record drums that...

    Condenser Microphone

Dude for $100 dollars us you can get an M-audio nova and your vocals will sound great. My friend tracks with one and it is incredible for the money. Very shinny and bright but full if eq'd correctly. I recomend it.

    M-audio 410

Howdy there all. I just bought an M-audio 410. I read alot about it and it seems to be pretty good for the money. I would love some honest opinions about this unit if you have used it. I will be using it with an M-audio solaris mic. Also the software I use is Logic express. Which is if I must...

How Do I Get Those Massive Guitars?!?!

First of all I would dump that cold sounding sm57 and get an E/V nd 468 mic. I experimented with my mics and tried this one in front of a tube amp cranked to about 4. It sounds awesome through my firepod into myl ogic on my mac. I use these also for my toms. They are made for drums usually, but...

    Firepod with RNP

Re: firepod Hey there. I own a firepod and am recording into Logic via my mac g4. I would say that I am fairly impressed with the firepod. I do not have an expensive mic pre but for the money, if recorded correctly with a good mic, the firepod is quiet and clean. Signal chain is important. Do...

Critique my drum kit recording II

Hello nice tight sound on the snare and kick. Plus the toms sound like you tuned them pretty good with no ring. As for the cymbals and the high hats, they seem a little midrange sounding around 1-2.5k. Just a suggestion maybe you should dump out some of that and add a little highs to the...

    need help with computer gear

Thanks guys, I was looking at the m audio delta thing and the firepod. And yes I was on that other forum. I have good mics and yes I know how to place and use them. I use e/v nd468's on the toms(sweet) akg 430's overheads, d112 on the kick, and i go back and forth between sm57's on the snare...

Which company's drums do you play? VOTE

tama what else? I play Tama drums due to the fact that they are mine and they sound better than yours which are not mine. No really there are so many good drums out there it really depends on what the drummer is comfortable with sound wise. I really like my starclassics. They are warm, loud and...
