Sweet! Thanks man. I'll get it installed and find a reason to use it later!
The whole idea of getting someone to wire my guitar is so they can do something special with it. Why not!
I'll let you all know how I get on.
Thanks for the input guys.
I was expectign a volume drop as these mini humbuckers do put out a hot signal. I suppose I am justr thinking of flexability. All my guitars are humbuckers. If I could have the possibility of turning this strat back into a strat then theat may give me options in...
Hi all
I'm having the seymour duncan Everything Axe set of mini humbuckers installed in my strat. The dude says he can fit a single coil switch for not much. He says that I can run with the humbuckers or flip a switch to engage just single coils. Anyone used these? Does this sound like a good...
Man, the Tampa is a lovely little unit. If you can't get a sound WAY better than through the berrie desk there must be something not quite right.
What mics are you using? Have you set up any acoustic material around the singing position? What Impedance setting are you using??
I used a Tampa...
OK. It seems to be a mains ground loop. The symptoms match exactly... Just gotta cure the bugger now!
Thanks all for your support. I'll get there eventually. :D
OK. If I go directly into the soundcard from my guitar the signal is fine. I guess this rules out IRQ at least!
The 4 ways I'm using are pretty old so I could try replacing those if you think it'll help?
This noise happens with both my Penta and Trakmaster so they can't have developed the same...
Internal M-Audio 24/96 x2 soundcards. No new monitor. Never had problem with power before... Stumped!
If it's a cycle hum problem what can be done... other than the power conditioner?...
Also what's the hum rate for the UK? Is it 50 rather than 60??
Please keep helping
Yup. No luck there. It's odd how it's just on the input signal, playback is fine.
I haven't added any new devices other than the pc itself.
What's also odd is that you can 'hear' when something happens on the screen... mouse movements, minimising pages. If you monitor teh signal coming in...
Hi. I've had a problem recording since getting my new dual core athlon pc. I originally posted this in the PC forum because I thought it was soundcard related but I have realised that it's an electrical issue.
When I record a track I can hear an electrical interference. I have all my stuff set...
I just got my mitts on a twintrack pro and it's a nice step up for me. The variable impedance has made my rode mikes smoother than ever... It may be that it's new but for a 'home recording budget' it sounds great to me! :p
I'm no pro with subs but I do know that frequencies that low are omni directional, so they don't need to be directly between the speakers. I think your supposed to avoid them being right in the corners or dead centre on walls to avoid room modes (someone correct me...?).
Oh... and nice set up...
You can save channel settings by right clicking just above the fader then load them in the next channel... I do this quite a lot with vocal treatments.
I hope this helps ;)
Sadly this is just by ear at the moment.
Due to the placement of the large window and the VERY thin rear wall the studio is set up length ways (don't give me too much stick... I wanted it the other way round but it would have proved very appealing a space to be in.
The overall size is about...
I have 2 x 4" thick rockwool panels free standing in the lower corners at the front of my 'studio'. I want to put more at this end (the rear is being sorted soon).
Now, should the next 2 be over the top corners (covering wall to wall to ceiling) or behind the monitors (in the middle of the...
I have used the M-audio 24/96 for ages and have never had a problem with it... in fact it's great!
With monitors... like anything 'vital' in your setup don't scrimp! £400 is a decent wad for a first timer. If you have it use it! But don't forget room acoustics (something I earned the hard way)...
