I am taking a live voice file and recording it on PC and then burning to CD.

Should I be limiting audio peaks on the way in or on the way out to the CD Burner? Does one way work better than another? If so what software or device works best to handle this? :cool:

Do I need to worry about how many Ohms a Microphone, specifically a headset PC Microphone puts out when using the factory installed sound card? Thanks for the help! :cool:

For some reason after I am recording a voice over N-track errors out once I press stop. Has this happened to anyone else. I am using Microsoft XP with just the factory issued sound card. I am trying to test out N-Tracks capability but so far it is not letting me record.

What have you heard? I have a gateway desktop computer. It seems odd that it would have issues with certain computers. Is there a specific hardware issue that is associated with it?

What is a Mic Pres? Forgive my ignorance. I am trying to connect three mics to a computer to do immediate burns onto CD.

Is there any signal degredation when going from an XLR connection to a 1/4" or RCA connection that most of these cards require?

The only problem is that I HAVE to have 3 XLR (mic) inputs at least. I really don't want to have to switch to a RCA connection or any other for that matter. I really don't want a full board either.

Do you think Cakewalk is pretty user friendly or is it pretty technical? Is Cool Edit Pro any more user friendly?
