I have an unbearable amount of line noise
sometimes i can get rid of it by fidgeting with the connection of the mic to the cable
sometimes i can hear a radio station in the signal interference
please help! (anyone who's had similar experiences)
I have an spc-10 large diaphragm mic into a tube mp studio preamp into the e-mu 1212 (using cakewalk proaudio8 to record and mix)
almost all of the time there's a very loud hum, much too loud to be able to record
sometimes the hum includes what appears to be people talking on a radio or tv...

any hints/tips?
should the mic that finale sells be adequate?
--so far it seems to be a pain to use--to be at the proper distance and input levels to prevent clipping/distortion--and i wonder about better quality overall
thanks for any advice
