    Memphis Honky Tonk

Sounds great here. Nice balance. If I dig deep for something to improve, I'd maybe add some weight to the snare, and there's something not quite right with the tambourine - jumps out of the mix a bit. Very minor. Great job overall.

    Boot hill

Yeah, there are some weird panning issues. One side is considerably louder than the other, and guitar is only on one side.

    Looking for mix feedback (pop/rock)

Been awhile since I posted a mix on here, but I have been working on a new room the last year, and finally had a chance to mix a song. Mostly looking for mix feedback, as I'm not sure how well this translates. My daughter did this for a contest, and unfortunately inherited my world-class...

Rock / Ballad "All I Am"

Yeah, what he said. Are the acoustics using pickups? They are really taking away from the song IMHO. Vocals are amazing though. I think the fact that they sound so great, makes everything else have to be at that level, or it really sticks out.

That's All I Got - What do you have?

I know this is an old thread, but thought I'd take a quick stab at this. Nothing fancy, tracks are pretty bad, but it works OK for a live sound. Mixed totally ITB in about 30 minutes, so it's not much....

    groups

Typically, you would not send tracks to a group just to add reverb. As stated above, set your reverb up as an fx track, and use sends to add reverb. All tracks can have the same amount of verb, or you can vary each track. It's also the least cpu intensive way to use a reverb.

Mixing and EQing drums in rock or prog/rock

Best advice I can give is, don't focus on what the solo tracks sound like. It's completely irrelevant. The trick is to weave all the different tracks together, so they sound good together.

    Gonna Die for the Dow

Gonna agree with the comments above. Hats are pretty loud.

One of These Days - new original

Sounds pretty good. I definitely hear the ZZ/Gibbons vibe that has been mentioned previously. Only thing I would say is there could be a bit more cymbals, but that could just be me - my hearing ain't what it used to be...Nice work - cool tune.

Game over - feedback wanted before sending to mastering

Sounds pretty good. Definitely an issue at about 3:14.

    No Excuses - acoustic cover

Sounds great overall. I'll second what others have said - vox could use some weight - I listened to "oh what a night" and that is a lot better, but even it could use a little more. If you are having issues with the click on the fade-out, just record that last chord strum without a click, and...

My kid is out of school so he must record and play guitar to keep busy.

I agree with Chili. Would also add that there seems to be a low mid build-up going on. I think a lot of that is coming from the bass track.

Looking for feedback on hard rock/metal mix

Thanks for all the feedback! Made a lot of minor tweaks. Adjusted the guitars a bit Brought the snare up, and the vox down a little. Can't have the vocals re-sung - that's the whole point of doing this - it's a difficult project for me , as the singer passed away at the end of last year...

Agony - Original hard rock...rough cut

I think this may be what's bugging me about the drums. If it were me, I'd remove all the verb from the drum program, and send them to whatever verb you are using for the rest of the song. That would help them glue with the rest f the song I think, and help them to sound less fake.

Agony - Original hard rock...rough cut

Overall, I think it sounds pretty good. I'd push up the main vox in the center up a bit still. Guitars sound good. Bass seems a bit loud on my monitors - but I like the tone of it. There is something about the drums though, that I can't put my finger on. What did you do on the drum tracks...

Looking for feedback on hard rock/metal mix

I've got an old demo track that I am mixing and would like some feedback. I am in a new room, and not sure how well my mixes will translate now. I know the distorted guitars sound like crap, but I don't know what else to do with them. I am used to good sounding tube amp tracks, and these are...

    King Bloom - Overgrown

Reworked my mix, and brought the limiter on the 2 buss down. Finally have monitors set up, but in a new room, so any feedback is greatly appreciated. Listened to several of the mixes on computer speakers and in my car (which has a pretty good stereo, and pretty flat down to 40hz). Most of...

    King Bloom - Overgrown

Here's my rough mix. Had a bit of trouble sorting out the guitar parts. There were spots were the parts were duplicates on different tracks, so it would collapse the guitars to mono. Had to use a little trickery to get them to stay stereo. If I get time, I will sort through them some more...
