Anass is an Arabic name.
Anass, you may have already gotten what you need from this thread but if not I think it would be smart to list in your public info what country you're from so those who reply won't hold your spelling/sentence structure errors against you thinking your posts are not...
Never got mine either.
All-around I feel like the group buys worked out alright; I've got so many more mics to handle different situations and have learned much from using different types (ribbon, tube, FET, etc).
I thought my ACM2 was useless due to serious sag but it works out because it...
Funny how these threads can live so long.
I ended up getting a new J45 on sale in 2007 after playing every other Martin, Gibson & Takamine + others in the store. The J45 just had the vibe I wanted.
It's mellow like one of the best parlor guitars I've ever played (despite not being a parlor...
I know - not the right forum but I figure most everyone checks in here and I didn't see either of these come up in a search so I figure it's worth posting in the mics section until mshilarious finds the right spot for it :D
PSP has their Nitro plugin available at www.audiomidi.com for $10...
I say keep the Shure Beta52a unless you really need the cash.
I prefer the RE20 (and the D112) on kick in most cases but every now and then the hollowed-out, V-curve, basket-ball sound of the Beta 52 ends up being just right for kick.
Pohaku has it right. Go with the 160x if you just need 1/4 inch (guitar/bass) inputs/outputs, go with the 160xt if you're using XLR inputs/outputs + 1/4 inch.
I have a 160xt; it grabs the sound much more than most other compressors in its price range that I've heard and makes it its' own, if...
It's a shame to hear this. There is no excuse for differences in quality control between units like this.
I'm currently reading Will Durant's book The Age of Lious XIV and came across this yesterday; this is how they handled manufacturing defects in France in the 17th Century, you guys might...

Exactly
This is where Chance screwed up. Chance told us on 02/08/08:
Q: just curious, but did you get an opportunity to do a side-by-side comparison with 1 of your 1073 modules?
A: (Chance) “LOL that was the first test we did. A/B sounded like A/A”
From day one Chance hyped the pres - or he...
Rightly so, Bill, my post was not directed at you. I quoted you and worked off that - if anyone took that out of context please note I'm not fingering Bill at all.
My beef is with the guys that were trying to seclude me and others within the group buy because we wanted answers to our...
I think it's most wise to speak for oneself :p
If there's one thing I learned from this group buy it's how dedicated some board members can be to a cause. While dedication can be admirable in many cases there's also a point at which it can become blind and a few folks here definitely crossed...
ACM Mics with Electric Guitar
ACM mics with electric guitar
Mics were each about 8 inches from speaker on a modded 1974 Twin which has a very nasty treble bite when clean around 3.15k. Guitar was 1974 Ibanez 335. Pre's were Digi 002.
Clean setting was a Credence-ish sound.
High gain setting...
Doh! That makes sense as I've heard API's are fast and a Neve inspired design would be slower. So... when will the ACMP Quad Eight inspired Group Buy begin? :)
ACM-1200, Shure SM81 & Neumann TLM49 on Acou Gtr
ACM-1200 & Shure SM81, cardioid with roll-off engaged recording Gibson J45. Preamp is Pacifica into Lynx Aurora. Also compared with Neumann TLM49 (no roll-off).
Noise floor: most quiet on the TLM49. 1200 & SM81 shared a louder but fine noise...
Ah - I didn't think about that, yeah the ACM1200 might be just right for back-round vocals for that reason. Sounds like you're pleased with the MA-200. I've been curious about it. Where else is it getting use for you besides vocals?
