    Jazz guitar solos

I've been playin guitar for about 6 years now, 3 of which have been in jazz band at my school. Lately, I havent been happy with my ability to solo. I have an easy time playing blue's solos, but when i listen to jazz solos, they seem to have so much more going on in them. My biggest problem i...

    Using mic preamps on mixers

If its an mg series, you can use the effects loop to do exactly that. If you want to monitor through the main outs on the mixer, only plug them the back of the mixer halfway. If it doesnt matter, just plug them in all the way.

It's better than any guitar that i planned on owning in the next 10 years. It even plays better than my strat. We'll i just figured...

From my experience....use a dynamic mic. I know all vocalist like to use condensors....but in reality, lower lever condensors wont work nearly as good as lower level dynamics on screaming vocals. I use a sm57 and i get really good results. Another andvantage to using a dynamic is (everyone will...

Hey, i just recorded my first full band in my studio the other day, and i finished mixing one of the songs. I also have a rap song i did of a friend of mine. I was just looking to see what people thought of it. Ive been recording my own music since i was 12 (4 years ago) but now that ive put a...

    Dipshit Moment

Had my first big dipshit moment today. I was recording vocals for this band. I turned on the wrong mic that was in the room from when we recorded drums. So i had the vocal track picked up by a mic that was 10 feet from the singer without even realizing it until after we had finished everything...

I think Metal is becoming monotonous.

myhatbroke....every post ive read of yours in the past week has been about metal. You know the only good metal band is man-o-war, so deal with it. They are the only band that still has the thirst for blood that the vikings did. Now go rock out to brothers of metal and be forgiven by the metal gods.

    Cubase SX problem

The other day i was messing around with drum mic placement. I had a one overhead, kick, snare, high tom and floor tom miced. At first, when i was listening to just the floor tom track, i thought it was just getting alot of bleed from the kick. But when i moved the mic to somewhere else in the...

Looking for an inexpensive mixer that can do this...

Check out the yamaha mg series. I have the mg16/4 and it works awesoem with my dual delta 44 setup. It doesnt really have direct outs, but it has effects loops that you can use as direct outs.

    Flood

That sucks man. My basement flooded last year. Luckily it was before i really started putting my studio together, cause it was pretty bad. It took until just a couple weeks ago for us to finally get some carpet down there. Good luck, hope it works out.

    Drum Heads

Thanks for the advice. Ill check them out. The thing is, im not a drummer. I just like to have a kit in my studio to practice drum mic setups with, and i like to jam with people once in awhile. I would also like to learn how to play better, and would like to make my set sound as good as...

Hey, i have a crappy cb drum set in my studio that needs new heads. I been having trouble finding resonant side heads. What are some good recomendations that arent too expensive? I really can't find anything in local music stores (all one of them) and i havent had too much luck on this here...
