    Bury Me Revisted (Bluegrass)

The vocals sound more natural now. The guitar picking sound is more smooth. The manolin and the guitar sound more full. Sounds like the mix done. Good job. Sounds great.

    'Lovesong' by The Cure cover

I thought the music was great. It sounded pretty much like the original. The keys sounded thin though. I keep waiting for Robert Smith to come in. Your voice doesn't really sound like his though. That kind of makes it sound like a karioke kind of thing. Great guitar work, bass work...

Is anyone here into good electronica?

This last tune is not like the others. It seems to be composed specifically with vocals in mind. As it is, it is rather repetitive like a pop tune and sounds like it is unfinished.

    Get Wrecked

I appreciate you guys taking the time to listen. HevyD: I did the recording, mixing, and mastering. I wish I could say that I did the composition too but that was done by a band called TMF. I agree with you, I'm not much into Industrial but I like what these guys have come up with.

Is anyone here into good electronica?

If you want to put vocals to these songs, you are going to have to change the arrangment. I'll do the vocals for you if you want. Let me know. Still working on the critique of this last tune.

    Drum Track construction

I don't see Slicy Drum DXi anywhere on this CD. I have version 1 still. It isn't on the XL version either. I am checking into Drumagog. Looks interesting. Thanx

    New bluegrass tune...

Pros 1. Excellent banjo tone 2. I like the acoustic bass 3. Authentic vocals, reverb is just right Cons (minor stuff) 1. Bass could be a little louder with some more low end, I'd pull down 300hz a little 2. Lead vocal sounds a little thin, lil less highs 3. Can hardly hear the backup...

Is anyone here into good electronica?

Another great tune. Commercial quality stuff. Pro's 1. Good composition and mix 2. Nice choice of instruments and effects 3. Sounds like a soundtrack to go with some cool computer animation or computer game like Myst or something. 4. Reminds me of Enigma with no vocals. No Con's What...

    Drum Track construction

I am using Sonar 1.3.1 which has Virtual Sound Canvas DXI. I can see the need to replace a live snare track with a nice sounding snare sample. I could construct a midi track and put it on channel 10 and use sound fonts from VSC but I want a better sounding snare than is available with VSC. I...

Is anyone here into good electronica?

pro's 1. Good composition and mix 2. Nice choice of instruments and effects 3. Like the way some of the instruments move to the sides. Gives the feeling of foward motion. 4. Sound quality is impecable 5. Nice little break in the middle, nice bongos 6. It's basically ear candy Con's...

Mastering sample from my home suite.

Pro's 1. aurally interesting 2. good composition 3. Like the beginning sound effect instrument, gives it an eerie feel. What is it? I like it. It should dip down a bit when the vocals come in though. 4. Snare sounds nice Con's 1. HHat sounds a little bright 2. Kick needs some more...

    Acoustic # 3 - I Want To Learn

Pro's 1. Good composition 2. Good vocal harmony 3. Good musicianship 4. Lots of potential Con's 1. Brightness of acoustic draws too much attention to itself. Picking sound too prominent, overshadows the body of the guitar. Needs more compression with quicker attack and if it is double...

    Please comment

Pro's 1. Good tone for the guitar. What did you use? Con's 1. Background music is too dry compared to the guitar 2. Song is too repetitive, needs some different parts. 3. Lead needs work. Not interesting enough. 4. No stereo image. Everything is coming from the center. 5. Bass...

    Lend me your ears

Oh well, no luck finding a site to put cover tunes on. I will put up my own soon. Anyways, Here is a url with some other recordings I've done: http://www.tmfhq.com/index2.htm They are an Industrial band called "TMF". Great guys. I have done both of their CDs. I would suggest "Hypnotic...

    Tracking the drums!

Blue, I checked out the 30 sec drum sample from the article. I could only hear bits and pieces because of my slow dial-up connection but from what I could hear, it sounded really solid. Good job.

    Recording School

In Maryland, look up Sheffield School for the Recording Arts. The reality though, is that once you graduate, you find yourself in a job market that is already over saturated. What part of Maryland are you in?
