    Sonar - Mackie

OK one in all... you can start lining up to give me that proverbial, justified kick in the butt for being so stupid!!! It seems that there is a little (in my case, hidden) speaker icon on the bottom right side, near the clock in Windows. If one wants to hear an audio sound coming...

    Sonar - Mackie

Hi all... I recently got myself a Mackie FX8 v2 Pro Mixer. I have the MIDI stuff all worked out but I'm having trouble with the audio side of things in Sonar Platinum. I checked out the Cakewalk site and here's what I came up with: In Preferences select audio device, playback and...

I have to tell you that the SD 2's "OUT" isn't a MIDI connection but rather RCA jacks. So I have a cable that has RCA jacks on one...

    Which VST?

Wow!!! I really didn't think that there'd be so many comebacks recommending free VSTs to try out. Perhaps I should do exactly that before putting out money out on others. But I have kept tabs on the "pay for" others as well. Thanks so much for the replies... very much appreciated!!! Bobby

    Which VST?

As I'm totally new to this plugin thing, please bare with me at my lack of knowledge. I really don't know what IR files are. And for sure I'd like to see some... especially if they're free!!! :) Bobby

    Which VST?

Greetings one and all... I'm wondering if someone could recommend a quality reverb, chorus and compressor VST plugins? I've tried a few free ones but really wasn't impressed. I'd rather pay for something with true quality. I'll be using them primarily in Sonar. Thanks in advance Bobby

    Roland JV-1010 Expansion Card

Hi all... I know that this is a long shot but I have to try anyway. I am the proud owner/user of a very ancient Roland JV-1010 MIDI sound module - a real dinosaur. Laugh if you will but it has a ton of great instruments and sound effects. There is an expansion card for it out there...

    That's IT!!! I've had it!!!

Hi Dave... Actually, I know about cables and how I could sometimes buy something that could have been substituted for something else that would have been cheaper. But it took me a while to finally learn because I have a drawer that is packed with cables that I probably will never use. I've...

    That's IT!!! I've had it!!!

Thanks, Steenamaroo... I've had too much excitement for one day from getting both modules working. :laughings: I'm a bit tired right now so I figure it best to leave well enough alone for now. Right now, I'm afraid to touch anything for fear that I might screw something up. :) But I will...

    That's IT!!! I've had it!!!

Hi Travis... Yeah, I know, huh? I installed the ASIO4ALL, and it seems to be working fine. Sonar found it right away. Now, I haven't done any audio since installing it but I'm thinking it should be OK. I got the Roland up and running!!! I certainly owe myself a hard kick in the butt for...

    That's IT!!! I've had it!!!

I listen to my music and everything else on my computer through the on board sound card. For music I have a Mackie USB mixer with reference speakers. Also, there's no drivers needed for the Mackie, but both DAWs warn me that there isn't any ASIO driver detected. Bobby

And so... I've decided to close up everything for the night. Tomorrow I'm going to pull everything pertaining to music out, and start all over again, wire by wire. Who knows... maybe a miracle will happen? Bobby
