Lol. Okay. Something is wrong with your system. This is a professional band from Scottland. Definitely panned hard right. I turned off the right speaker, and there was nothing in the left other than a tambourine.

During the intro, the drums are panned hard right, guitar hard left, but in the left there's also a tambourine...sounds great to me. Is this common? I can't remember ever hearing something like this.

I used to mix on headphones, and the mixes sounded a lot like this one where the low end is thin. Headphones are just not ideal...I'd suggest always adding a bit more bass and body than you hear in them.

The smoother synth definitely sounds better. I'd go with that tone and timbre. I think it sounds good to bring the synth back at the change around the 1 minute mark. I wouldn't use it during the first vocal part. Maybe go with something less busy there so it's still full but so it's not...

To me the bass lacks "body" and is making the mix sound thin. I'd like to hear more power in the kick and snare, too. Generally just lacking in the low end, but I guess that is subjective.

Thanks, Jeff. I cut the bass at 90hz about -9db! I use flats, and I find they give a ton of woof in that area. I'm afraid to cut it more, but I'll check the higher range you mention. Is that the 2nd harmonic? Yeah maybe it also has some woof. Thanks for the feedback!

I agree the synth is egregious. I think it's fine during the intro, but should stop when the vocals come in. It almost sounds like it's going for a Baba O'Reily type thing, but it's too thin and electronica sounding to work in that sense. The rest sounds pretty good, but to me the distorted...

The mix sounds thin to me. Did you mix it on headphones? Personally I want more low end warmth.

I cut some mud, redid some vocal parts, and then tuned a few. Removing the mud might have made the vocal too loud now? But otherwise, how does it sound now?

Thanks for the detailed feedback. I planned to redo the vocal after hearing it today. Yeah, I used Superior Drummer, which is technically a human, but I do have a drummer who I can have play over that park to make it even better. Thanks!

So I think this is done. The final mix is in the original post now. Any issues? I my issue with not liking the groove was somehow fixed with adjustments in the mix. I dig the groove now. The only thing I'm still wondering is vocal placement. Is it too far back? I kind of like it where it is, but...

Super fun. It actually reminds me of something Sublime would write + the groove. When I saw the title I figured it would cringe but you managed to make this super cool.

That's awesome, thank you, man. Lou Reed is my favorite artist of all time. There is shaker (an egg) at times.....I kind of bring it in and out you should be able to hear it unless I accidentally disabled that track in mixdown. I will look.
