Warp Markers do something to the audio before quantizing

Hello! I’m trying to quantize some drums. Most of it is fine, but one short stretch is pumping in the overheads and the hihats are metallic/robotic sounding as soon as I hit Create Warp Markers at Hitpoints. Before quantizing. AudioWarp is on. Does something happen to the audio at this point? I...

Credits for a song, 80's style

Love the suprising intro and the Opeth-esque feel of it!

Do you mix/master with headphones or studio monitors?

I used to mix on the monitors, then check with the headphones, but now it's the other way around. I think it's easier to get to know the headphones. They have a much flatter frequency curve. My room is not treated and I like to re-arrange med furniture every once in a while. I use the monitors...

My first atempt at goa trance

So I guess this may be the wrong forum for underground electronic music, then(?) :P Even though I like my mix, it doesn't sound professional. And I do think professional mixes sound better. Hey, Sorry about the WAV. I saw someone complaining about listening to a soundcloud-link in another thread and thought I'd upload the best I could. Just uploaded a mp3 as well. Goa trance is a type of psychedelic trance, although preceding the whole genre. Fast catchy intertwining melodies and...

My first atempt at goa trance

Boom! I'm starting out with my first atempt at making goa trance. I'm asking for comments on everything here - the choice of sounds, arrangment, mix and mastering. It is made with Ableton Live Intro without any expansions or third-party plug-ins, so I basically used what I could find. My...

    Killing Party

The original mix' guitars are too piercing, but the new mix is kind of dull sounding (but very comfy!). Like my hair metal cassets from the 80s. Especially the guitars. Maybe it's something for the mastering to correct, though. Or maybe they're better this way. Nice and comfy.

    New Members: Introduce Yourself Here!

Hello, I'm Bjornar (or Bjørnar) from Norway. I'm about to take my recording/mixing/production more seriously. I'm primarely a guitarist (metal and old school goth/postpunk/deathrock/psychobilly) and a programmer (all kinds of psytrance), but one who's interested in every part of music...
