searching a simple software based midi-only sequencer

You were right. I went through their manual and it clearly states it can sync to an external sequencer.

Thanks for your succinct reply. I may be mistaken, since I thought I had asked this to tech support of Mastertracks, but I will recheck. Currently their website seems unreachable.

Too bad, Mastertracks cannot run by an external midi clock.

searching a simple software based midi-only sequencer

Thanks, this helps. I am going to check it out. With regards to the VST interface you are probably right. The requirement came out of ignorance. I was assuming that the standard way to connect a midi sequencer to a midi slave was a VST interface (I am using Battery 3.0 by Native Instruments)...

searching a simple software based midi-only sequencer

Reaper is a complete studio, in my perception the open source version of Cubase and the likes. I have already seen midi sequencers that are a lot simpler, but maybe someone here can point me to an even more stripped down basic version.

searching a simple software based midi-only sequencer

Hello, I am looking for a light-weight software based midi-only sequencer, I don't need to record audio. Anyone knows how to use Anatek Pocketsync?

Hello, Just was was able to lay my handson a secondhand Anatek Pocketsync to sync a taperecorder with a midi seqencer. No manual included however, does anybody have a manual for this that I can copy/scan? It's probably no more than a few pages anyway. Or if someone could tell me how to use it...

    Editing arrangement on Boss BR-800

Let's give the answer myself :). Yes this is possible. If you create a song on the br-800 and then select it from the drum editor, you can add rhytm to it. You can upload it to the br-800 and later on. If you desire to change it later on, you go through the same steps and your arrangement will...

    Editing arrangement on Boss BR-800

Hello, Is it possible to upload once created rhytm patterns/arrangments back to your pc (from your boss dr 800), edit them, again store them on the Boss while at the same time making sure that it stays in sync with instruments that were recorded on other tracks? Cheers, Jan Marten

Synchronising non-midi device with midi device

I have a Tascam dp008 (recorder without midi interface) and a Boss dr-880 (drumcomputer with midi interface). This works fine for the song sketching that I use this for, but there is one thing that I would like to improve: Usually, when I start writing a song, I program a very basic drumtrack...
