Hello again. I'm monitoring on a pair of Alesis monitor one's through the Alesis power amp. uhh...and the what's going into that is a MOTU 24i.
You know, this may sound weird, but I actually don't have a closet. Can you guys recommend a way to treat a room for better sound recording? I...
Hello. I am multi-tracking with Cubase24 and can't seem to achieve a desired guitar sound. Basically what I'm shooting for is something like on the new Chixdigit record, which is full, big rocking guitars. Basically a Rob Cavallo sound circa first weezer record or Muffs (Blond and Blonder)...
Hi. This is a question for and hardcore guitar techs on the board. I've got this les paul knock-off with 2 covered humbuckers in it and when I crank it up with distortion, it lets out this bizarre sounding feedback when I stop playing. The feedback is more hollow sounding, if that makes...
Hello. I'm using Cubase VST (not 24) on a Mac and I've noticed that every time (well, almost every time) I do a punch that I can hear a faint (but audible) pop right where the punched audio starts. Are there any tricks to punching in audio that will reduce this "pop"? help!
hey everybody,
I was wondering if anyone knew off hand if that old 1985 Tascam 388 reel to reel 8 track had a phantom power switch in the back. Does anyone know?
Thanks CMiller. That will be a major help. Off the subject, do you happen to know of any good, cheap plug-ins. Specifically, I'm looking for a compressor, but most downloadable stuff I've tried causes my computer to not run smoothly or the plug-ins just don't work well. Do i really have to...
Dude, I read the book that came with the cubase software and found it to be a pretty crappy learning aid. It got me up and running, but really doesn't go into the details of all of the functions. so I hit the electronic documentation on the cubase cd and that was like 8 million pages long and I...
Hey there. I'm kind of new tocubase VST (not 24) and I was wondering if there is a way i can automate the mixing? Can anyone just get me on the right path? Thanks.
Hey,
I'm kind of in the process of building my Cubase studio and I'm wondering what people are using for mic pres. I could see getting a 16 channel mixer (i usually record live bands and need more than 8 outs). What do people usually use for mic pres?
HI. I can't quite figure out how to save songs on cubase so that I can burn them onto a CD using TOAST. Saving as a "SONG" on Cubase is not recognisable by TOAST (since it's a native cubase format). Is there a way to save a song as a 2 track (left and right) audio file with cubase? I'm confused.
The LEDs on the Motu stuff are pretty handy and accurate. A Motu 24o would be hot. I'm still getting started with cubase (I used to record 8 track analog) and mixing on the PC isn't nearly as annoying as I thought it would be. The EQs in Cubase have a whole lot of range, and I think there's a...
Hey. That rocks! could you please post or email me (araybuck@yahoo.com) slightly more detailed instructions and the parts you need to build the signal splitter? That would be cool. thanks.
Hi. I've got this problem. When I mix down to DAT, the mix sounds just the way I want it and all, but when I dupe it to cassette and play it on a home stereo, the mix always sounds different (crappier) than when I mixed it down (I mean that vocal levels sound a bit lower, overall bass is...
Thanks for the input. I found a (new) 24 channel Mackie for about $1300 with 24 direct outs, so I think I'll try to pick that us as soon as I get the bix together. thanks for your help.
Actually, the problem is just that playing the mix back on other stereos doesn't sound like the mix I was getting when I was mixing to dat. When I play the Dat back on my AR speakers, it sounds fine, but when I hook the Dat up to a portable or home stereo, the mix doesn't sound as good as it...
I think I prolly wouldn't do more than 16 at a time, but you never know...i like to keep my options open. Is there a relatively inexpensive 24 channel board you know of? I'm looking at the Mackie 1604 and alesis32 right now (which are 16 channel, i know, but i'm not opposed to springing for a...
I just searched and found other posts prety much asking the same question...duh. Thanks for the quick responce. I'm going to need 16 direct outs, though, so I'll prolly go with the Alesis. Is there any way to record 16 tracks at the same time with the Mackie 1604?
