Bringing Line Level down to mic level

I have a cassette recorder and tapes that I want to mixdown into my interface. Bad news is that my cassette recorder puts out line level while my interface only accepts mics and instruments. What can I use to bring the signal from my cassette recorder down to mic level. I had someone mention...

    Tascam 414 and reverb

So I have my Tascam pretty much good to go but I would like to have reverb on vocals and guitar through the effect 1 send. I would like to find something analog but digital seems to be what's affordable. I was told that a guitar pedal wouldn't be good by one person and that it would be fine by...

    Tascam 414 mic/line noise

I figured out the issue. I've been using an XLR to TRS 1/4". I tried an XLR to TS 1/4" and it worked great.

    Tascam 414 mic/line noise

***Update*** I tried plugging my guitar into the Tascam and everything sounds crystal clear. Also tested the mics I'm using on an interface and got problems as well. What I'm using is an XLR to 1/4". It sounds like it's leaking power, but when I used the regular guitar cable it was fine. What...

    Tascam 414 mic/line noise

So when I plug a mic into the front of my Tascam 414, any four of the tracks, I hear loud this hum in my monitors. Think of when you plug a guitar cable into the amp and have the 1/4 end laying on the floor. This noise is even louder when I use phantom power. What could be wrong? Could anyone...

    Tascam 414 high speed recordings

Ahhh I figured. In that case I think I'll probably invest in a interface w/ more inputs. Now when I record the tracks from cassette into the software is it going to be altered in any way? I'm looking for it to be as authentic as possible to the original recording.

    Tascam 414 high speed recordings

Awesome, thank you for the reply.. Most of my songs have 3 tracks but my interface only has two inputs... how would I work around that?? Also, is sending a stereo mix into the interface the same process as sending a mono mix? Hopefully done with the questions for now! thanks

    Tascam 414 high speed recordings

Okay cool, can you explain to me how I would do that? I have a plain old Dell laptop with Studio One software from an Audiobox USB. I've been using that lately with a condenser mic to make recordings but don't quite understand how to get the recordings off the tape. If I plugged my Tascam into...

    Tascam 414 high speed recordings

Hi there guys, I hope you can help me out. I have a Tascam 414 that I'm planning to record an album on (I'm into lo-fi recordings). I discovered after the fact that this recorder records cassette at high speed. I would like to get the recordings from the Tascam, which play at twice the normal...
