On my Pathfinder 10 I applied aluminum tape to the inside of the back panel. Cut the hum quite a bit.

I have a DP-008 and am very impressed. I tracked eight tracks from a variety of sources and didn't need to crack the manual until I exported to my computer.

Jack White plays an original. I had the similar Eastwood Supro guitar for a while. All I can tell you is these things are MASSIVELY overpriced. They have the look but not the sound or feel.

The SCXD is nice...I replaced the speaker in mine with a Weber Sig series alnico 10s. Huge improvement for very low bucks.

I have both machines. The Boss has decent effects,mics and drums built in and it runs on batteries. The Tascam has KNOBS and much nicer build quality.

The M-Audio DMP-3 is a step above the Presonus and ART stuff.

If you build basses why wouldn't you just do a quick fret level and be done with it? I don't understand paying under $200 and expecting perfection?

Neat idea, but I wonder how many they'll sell in this economy at $600?

I have the Blonde and while I haven't recorded with it yet I'm using it through a keyboard amp and it sounds very believable. So far I've had more success with clean to semi-dirty tones with it...enough so that my tweed deluxe clone has been getting lonely.

Also look at the Heil stuff.

The DP-02cf offers so much more for only a few dollars more. You can find them cheeeap on ebay.

Zoom makes some really great drum machines...any of them except the little square one. The sounds are much more natural than most of the competition.

I've had a set of 5s for a couple of weeks now and I really like them. Music123 is doing the 15% off/free shipping deal right now which brought the price down to around $250.

The Fab pedals sound good but the jacks are crud. The Cool Cat series is great-they are by far the best value in effects pedals right now.

The Korg Pitchblack is awesome.

I've got the AV 40s and I just ordered a set of KRK 5s. The M-Audios are convenient, with the mini jack input on the front for mp3 players or whatever. I'm just not hearing a lot of clarity. Nice for the price, though.

The designs that have the amp in one speaker and a passive satellite tend to be cheaper and have less cables but they aren't as good for critical mixing because there is a greater chance the speakers won't have identical output and tone.
