The es' are a good choice.

I think for the money the ms2000b is the best choice. They're all different and cool in their own ways, but for $500 or whatever ridiculous price an ms2000 goes for these days, you can't beat it. I paid $1024 for mine and I'd never sell it.

Firewire = IEEE1394 It's an interface. Like USB but faster. It was created by apple, but is now used on both platforms. Do a google search for more detailed info.

I'm gonna buy an external HD today... 100gb or so, firewire... What is the best model for speed and reliability? What amount of cache do I need to look for, and are there any other specs I need to look for?

I like dell inspiron laptops personally. Get the most bad ass one you can afford. Big harddrive and prefferably about a gig of memory.

A good number of games don't have to be reinstalled, but most applications will have to be. It's really best just to back up all your save files and important stuff, wipe it all and start clean.

Acid is great but it doesn't replace the functionality of an editor. Damn, I've never seen anyone challenge spin...:confused:

I may be wrong but I'm fairly sure you will still have to do the setup within soundforge... BTW have you had any luck?

The roland sh-32 is very cheap, and very cool.

goto preferences in soundforge and setup your soundcard uner the "wave" tab.

You need to run the line to the "line in" jack, not the mic jack.
