I have done some extensice searches, but for the most part, nobody was talking about external CD-Burners when it came to the subject of putting your Primary IDE Master- O/S Hard Drive Primary IDE SLave- Drive #2Audio FIles Drive Secondary IDE Master - CD-ROm Secondary IDE SLave - Not...

    Fender strat: American or Japanese.

Ya, Jimi Hendrix to name one. can I pose a different question about assembly line Fenders made TODAY.??? which would you rather get a MIM re-issue, or a MIJ STRat? I think the MIM re-issues are alright, much better after you re&re the hardware and circuitry., but what are your opinions...

    Fender strat: American or Japanese.

well there ya go, the MIJ strats I owned were from the 80's. In the 90's I bought an Ibanez witha Floyd. It was a damn good guitar. Much better than any of the MIJ Strat's I had owned previous to that. But Guitar Man, do you seriously think a MIJ 60's re-issue is better than a real vintage...

    Fender strat: American or Japanese.

I don't rtash it simply cuz it's says made in Japan, I trash it cuz I've owned about 6 of them, and all them sucked. The bottom line is the best USA made strats will blow the doors off a MIJ strat in all aspects. I've seen late 50's USA made strats that are still touring and holding up well. I...

    Fender strat: American or Japanese.

The USA guitars aren't photoflame unless that's what you go out of your way to buy. The photoflame editions have a marking on the headstock indicating so. The new American Series Strats and Standards are made of real wood, real finishes. photoflames were mid 90's and marked on the headstock...

    Fender strat: American or Japanese.

Ya, I know.....but still, It's been my experience that if your going to buy a Fender Strat, a USA made is the way to go. Now thats purely my opinion. I've owned a few MIJ strats in my day....I owned an Ibanez, the Ibanez was the best of the bunch. I sold it a while back though. I had it int he...

    Fender strat: American or Japanese.

Ha ha, ol' Albert King woulda kicked Stevie's ass for that!!! ha ha, I've never seen that before, but still, the tone you hear on Stevie's album is US Strat. I think he figured out the blues purists wouldnt accept him with his Tokai!!! ha ha... If I was gonna buy Japanese I'd buy Ibanez or...

    Fender strat: American or Japanese.

I can take any supposed crappy off the wall Strat and set it up to play killer. The truth is, a lot of guys can play guitar, but have no clue as to how to set it up. A strat is a difficult beast, so when it's not set up properly, a guitarist usually blames the guitar. I've tried lots of off the...

    Fender strat: American or Japanese.

there is no comparison. I own a new American USA strat, I took the pickhaurd off and it's 3 cavity body. No swimming pool shit. Thats CBS era strat crap. Of course a Jap strat is better than one of those, if thats what your comparing it to. But get real. The wood, the circuitry is all better...

    Life without the POD.

at 3am your loud marshalls and fenders are useless. I have a POD and love the little thing. It really makes late night jams and recording possible for lots of us. but I mean in the optimal situation a mic'd amp is the real stuff, but at 3am its alot of hassle to mic and crank and amp to...

    ...OUR DEMO "Washed On Shore"

thanks for listening, yes, the tune was more or less a live jam, I used very little gear. We used average mics, Little effects, hardly any EQ. It took 20 minutes to get a drum sound. We micd the snare with a SM57, a Kick mic i cant remember and some AKG overheads. A 1960's approach, hell I...

    ...OUR DEMO "Washed On Shore"

here's a song we recorded over a weekend last month. We wrote it ourselves, we threw it together over 2 days recorded and mixed and on CD within 4 days. Very fast, so there is flaws, but it's a demo anyway, what I would be interested in are comments and things to better service a final version...
