Hey there, yep I'm a bit of a noob.
First off what is a tube mic? What are they used for? How do they differ from condenser mics or are they just a certain type of condenser mic?
Any general info on the subject would be appreciated :)

What is the cheapest but still effective way of building a drum isolation booth?
It's something I'm considering doing in the future, but mainly I'm just curious :)
What about the 'Alesis MultiMix 16 USB 2.0 Mixer with USB Interface' would this allow me to potentially record my whole band onto separate tracks in garageband so we could record together? I know their is another version of the alesis multimix 16 that I believe only offers a stereo sub mix but...
I read this when looking at the Tascam US 1800.
"Up to 16 inputs and 4 outputs are transmitted to Mac or Windows over high-speed USB 2.0 connection."
Does that mean I'll only be able to record on 4 separate tracks in garageband?

Up till now I've been using Garageband and I love the built in sounds for Garageband and their simplicity (I know they're not great but for what I want they're perfect). Is their a way I can use the sounds from Garageband in Reaper? I've...
