    what's the better cheap mic stand / filter brand?

    oh because i already have some nice tama stands at my studio, but i'm staying somewhere else and need to just pick up a couple cheap stands for recording a friend.. figured i might as well get the best of the crappy so i could use them again in the future if needed.

    reaper??

    i've used reaper and personally i couldn't get into it.. it seemed to be able to do everything any other daw could do, but take extra unnecessary steps to accomplish just about every task. i found myself taking extra time to record things that i recorded in other daws much faster (and easier) ...

    sing but can't whistle?

    anyone else suffer from this? i have a huge vocal range and can sing on pitch almost always.. but i suck at whistling! not only is my range much smaller (can't whistle high notes at all) but my pitch is so much worse! does anyone have any explanations for this or any tips on how to improve?

    cool i'll just go with on stage then because i've heard of their company more . hopefully it will matter less if i go with the round base stands.. they seem to be overall more sturdy/less likely to topple over and i shouldn't be needing booms

    need to pick up a few stands and pop filters today in a rush for use on friday .. my guitar center has musiciansgear and on stage stands/pop filters as t heir cheapest brands.. in your experience which brand is less crappy

    best way to record sm57 for metal vocals?

    How do people generally use this microphone for recording a metal vocalist in the studio? Do they stand 6" away with a pop filter in between? Do they hold it in their hand and sing right up close to it to take advantage of the proximity effect? I'm recording my first metal vocalist this...
