Me, too. I've always loved older marshall amps (the simple ones), but loved the Orange tone instantly after playing one. The TT is the most obnoxiously in-your-face of the brand. Arguably not the 'best', but TT is like a tubescreamer.. You either get it or you dont. If you do, it is a cool amp...

Les Pauls are nice guitars. Spend some time with it (months, not minutes :) ) and see what happens. If you still don't bond with it, try some other electrics and find one you like.

The only negative about this amp is it can be noisy. Mainly when pushing the tubes, but I noticed it clean tonight on the high frequency spectrum of the wah. Haven't looked into it yet to see if it is a design issue, cheap tube(s), or a grounding issue.

Anyone using one of these? I just bought a used deluxe and I'm pretty impressed. It has a really good range and is easy to make it sound expressive. Shafts mode is what it says, great 70s **** clean clack guitar wah. Wacky mo is a wider frequently range with what seems like a volume boost cut...

Thanks, man. Regarding poor man's LP, every Les Paul I've ever heard sounds like an LP. Voodoo this and magic that, at the end of the day they all sound like Les Pauls with subtle differences only players can hear. Still enjoying your Blackstone Club 40?

lol. I can't remember which sounded worse, the bandit built-in distortion or the DOD performer, but it was not a good OD tone point in my life. That much I remember.

I have the Joyo version of your PS built by the same 7 year old Chinese kids. Works fine.

I used a DOD performer series distortion with an 82 strat through a peavey bandit 50 amp, and later a peavey musician head and 4x12 cab. My tone was not very good back then. :)

The singer for my high school band in 83 had a rat. I liked it. It had a raw, beefy sound to it.

That guitar has some gorgeous graining happening. Neck thru body, beautiful natural colors...that is a fine looking instrument!

Sm57 close mic off axis, or if the room is really good then any decent LDC 4-6' back. The mic I did not like on a guitar rig (not as much as a 57 anyway) was the e609. I loved it on snare, though. It was a little thinner sounding than the 57. Liv rong bought it and I think he likes it.
