Pulled a coupla guitars from storage for general cleaning and love recently

The Strat and Strat style (I have two ‘80s ‘shredders’) ate the easiest guitar to play. The Gibsons just sound so much better IMO. P.s.- the Orange Tiny Terror combo (discontinued now) is a good basic amp, but overly heavy to carry for what it is. I like it, but use EQ front end to get it where...

My player (shortlisted from an Orlando guitar show) is a ‘98 Standard. Never weighed this one but probably 11+ lbs. Gibson Std pickups 490/498 of the time and they are monsters with h the wood weight/resonance. It could almost pass for a semi-hollow body unplugged. She’s the one I put playing...

Final in storage is a 1986 1959 reissue ‘prehistoric’ from the transition phase from Norlin to Juszkiewicz buyout. Basically what’s left in the bins was used until Bill Lawrence circuit board pickups and new wood factory was used in the prehistorics up until the official launch of Hitstori...

Next, a 1985 LPC ebony with Tim Shaw PAF reissues. Heavy, but the absolute best sounding electric guitar I own. She has been played and isn’t mint, but my favorite.

I just don’t have room for them right now so they are in safe regulated storage in a house. • 2002 American Strat (last year for Fender colour Sky Blue). Nice guitar, a stock Strat. Sounds like, looks like a Strat. Sold a ‘99 Tele to fund it. Always wanted a ‘Baby Blue’ Strat since I became...

    EHX delay pedals

I have a big box early 2000’s, a 2008-ish XO, and love them both. Several other analog and digital boxes of different years. I’m rearranging a small board and looking at EHZ Memory Toy for a long delay. XO does a perfect ‘always on’ studio spatial. Anyone have or played the Memory Toy? It’s...

    Save Me

Late to the party but this is a great tune. I love the way it progresses, evolves, then regresses all over again naturally. Well done!

    ABCDEFG

Love the tune, love the sax solo. This was ELO? Can’t help but think the first four riff notes have the Funky Town vibe…I wonder which one came out first.

    Home Studio 2024

First, GREAT choice in surge protection! Tripp-Lite is the only product I will use and most of it vintage from their Chicago manufacturing days. ??? Second, I’m STILL and avid believer in analog consoles and having a button, knob, or slider to engineer sound. I mix by ear, not by software...

    Small Room Acoustics

And to add to the OP, this ^ ^ and this v v: transmission loss (often called ‘soundproofing’ where you don’t hear sound escaping outside of the room) and sound treatment (tuning for LF buildup and errant HF reflections) are two separate things. If just tuning your room acoustically (most...

    New Members: Introduce Yourself Here!

Hey new members, I go by Seeker here and on other music forums that I don’t visit much lately ? Always seem to be on HR.com, though ? There is the best wealth of information on this recording site IMHO, though some of the professional engineers (who were regulars at one point) may not frequent...

Patience was a well-known whistle track that went well. I can whistle but suck enough to make a track of it.

Manslick - There was a dude

As a song, I like the happy waltzy piano intro and then incorporation into the song as it progresses. Then guitar minor, almost dissonance, breaks the piano intro as a surprise. And vocals are done well with a good voice tone and melody. The first staccato guitar lead run at about :55 sounds a...

Question: Is a 30-watt amp head going into a 2x12 cab good enough for medium-sized gigs?

As a purist I will never ever give up my analog tube amps but I could play a large forum gig with only my pedalboard if needed.
