    Peavey Mics

Good point. There are three industry giants that set the pace. Yamaha Roland Peavey These three Companies make up almost half of all of musical instrument sales worldwide. C

    Peavey Mics

Why stop production on product that makes you money just to prove you can do it. Over the years Hartley has dabbled in high-end gear. Hint.......He owns Crest Audio. It's also hard to compete with China these days. C

    Peavey Mics

Peavey has made a bunch of mics over the years. So to say Peavey mics suck is kinda a broad stroke. I have a Peavey T-9000 Tube mic that I wouldn't trade for anything. They also made a killer set of studio monitors for a few years. If Peavey wanted to make the best recording mic on the planet...

convince me to run out and rent 414's!

I know! Bunnies are slowly becoming the new trend for studios. Out with the Lava Lamp and in with the furry little carrot eating, pellet dropping, buck toothed, big-eared fuzzy fellow we call the studio mascot. And if He dies we just plug the Lava Lamp back in. C

convince me to run out and rent 414's!

I guess my point is, several people including myself have used small capsules as over-heads for so long that we forget that ldc's can produce a nice tone in the application also. The 414 model is one of my favorite all around mics to capture several things. So I don't think you'll hate yourself...

    Wanted:Manual for Sanusi WS-X1

Underwater? Underwater? Man this just keeps getting better. OK here's the deal. plug it in and turn on power. If it powers up, put a tape in each transport and push play per side. If nothing happens donate it to someone else. The repair cost would be outrages even if you could still get parts...

convince me to run out and rent 414's!

Why do you need to be convinced? 414's as over-heads are about as good as it gets in my book. I only have one 414 at this point so I use my studio project stereo mic for over heads and it does a great job. Here's a sample of the stereo mic over-head that I recorded a few weeks ago. So to answer...

    Wanted:Manual for Sanusi WS-X1

Ya, it was a wanna be Tascam/Fostex that was almost cool. It was unique due to the six tracks with a built in mix down deck. As I recall it had a few cheesy effects that made my ears bleed. After they failed miserably the plastic white shell was used by another CO. for something completely...

    Wanted:Manual for Sanusi WS-X1

I had one of those about a gazillion years ago. You might want to get it checked out by a pro shop before you spend too much time hunting for a manual. The chances of it functioning correctly are kinda thin. I think it was a short lived model made around 1987-1990. So to be working after 15 or...

    For all you old guys

When you start a thread with old guys in the title your gonna get a history lesson no mater what. I could go on for days about the music industry but *hey* what's the point. It's all Millie Vanillie in and out of the studio anyway. C

    For all you old guys

Amen Brother! It's like having the fastest car in the world with no place to race it. It's like having your own jet airplane and no passengers. It's like well.....you get the point. C

    For all you old guys

Wow guys! There are some great and lengthy post here. It's hard for me to compare the two worlds when you have to compare dollars also. One problem with analog is it takes a lot of money before you get real quality. But once you reach the real Quality stage, digital can't touch it. In order to...

    Can Anyone play this?

Thanks guys for the input. I'm so use to making everything big on the recordings that I never thought it might be better to leave it completely dry for learning purposes. mmmm I'll have to consider it. I just checked out Jim Payne's audio files and they do sound like a very tight drum machine...

    Is it just me? Or......

Hey again Blue Bear. That sure is a bunch of good monitors that got blown away by the KRK's. It's always nice to hear other opinions especially if the reinforce your thinking. I was also overwhelmed by the sound of the KRK's. I'm going to add them to the collection very soon and on your...

    Is it just me? Or......

It's funny how many studio monitors find their way to the home stereo system. Just about everybody I know with a pro or home studio has a pair on the shelf. I'll bet there are more Alesis Monitor Ones in home stereo use than there are Monitor Ones in studio use. ha ha I'll have to give those...

    Can Anyone play this?

OK guys I assure you this is not some lame ass attempt at Spam. I think He's an amazing drummer with tons of talent and was actually reading the solos from the new book while recording. About 30 min into recording I even asked Him if anyone will be able to play these solos. "I hope so"...
