My amp is pretty noisy also. Until you get money to remedy the situation, just mute the parts when the guitar isn't playing. It works fine. But I do agree with Gidge, you gotta start at the source, and work your way up the chain. It gets a little expensive. Good Luck.

I have a Washburn XB100. It looks and plays great. I think I got it for about 375 bucks. Combined with my SWR, and 421, it kicks ass.

I'd go with a 421 and a direct box. Like a countryman or something. If you have tracks to spare, why not. A direct aloneisn't going to catch the physical movement of air that the speaker creates. I just blend the two.

I can't say exactly cause I haven't heard the song. It could just use some creative EQ. I always stay away from re recording drums. I would either trigger another drum source or if this is not an option, re record the song.

I dislike tremolos also. I can't recommend a guitar for you as I've been out of the buying gear phase for a while now, but if you find one, you could always use Sperzel locking tuning keys. These things work great. Adn really help with tuning too.

You can make a ghetto out of ohase cable. just open up the connector, and switch pins 2 and 3. and be sure to label it. Easy as pie.
