    Art Pro Channel Preamp

Forgot to mention that I also had a GAP PRE73 and also found this quite noisy! Potentially this preamp could be great but Bo from GA confirmed that the PRE73 has some issues with poor sheiling and grounding noise. Golden Age are releasing a DLX version of the PRE73 which will sort this out with...

    Art Pro Channel Preamp

I haven't used the Pro Channel but have used the ART MPA Gold preamp. I found this to be disappointing because it was very noisy! I tried upgrading the tubes to NOS Telefunkens and still found it to sound very noisy. This was a shame as I liked the tone of the preamp and it does offer a lot of...

Recommend budget vocal tracking compressor - £300

One compressor that I've been recommended is the Aphex Expressor 651. Has anyone here compared this to any of the pres on my list? From what I've been reading this is said to be a VERY clean/transparent compressor!?

Is it worth adding a Grace M101 to my pres?

Ok that's interesting to know. The M101 that I was considering buying would not be cost effective. Buy the time I've paid shipping ( US-UK ) and paid for handling it would be close to the price of a new one! Maybe I'll hang on till when one of these comes up secondhand and stick with the tools...

Is it worth adding a Grace M101 to my pres?

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I was thinking along those lines. I've been doing some pricing up on these pres and found that the P-Solo costs £463 and the M101 £591!!! I've never seen these come up secondhand in the UK. I've already got pres in my Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 DSP which are...

Is it worth adding a Grace M101 to my pres?

Hi, I currently use a UA Solo 610, Focusrite ISA One and PreSonus Eureka in my studio. These are all capable of different colors and all sound great. However, all my pres are transformer type pres and apparently this adds something to the sound?? Because of this I'm tempted to get a...

    P-Solo, QuadraVerb, M-EQ, SM7B, ACM70

I've been looking to pick up a P-Solo for a while now but sadly my budget has just gone into a new JBL Pa with subs and can't stretch to $400 because I live in the UK and by the time I'm stung with shipping and import duty it's not worth it.

Adam A8x vs Mackie HR824mkII vs KRK VXT8 vs Focal Solo 6be?

Hi, I'm looking for some new monitors for a different studio setup . The monitors I have in my other studio setup are a pair of Acoustic Energy AE22's + Sub. These are great but in the new setup a sub won't really work in the room and there are times when I need to monitor really deep bass...

Need mic or pre to make my vocals sound warm and gooey and full and thick... :o

I've been trying out quite a few mics and pres and found some can give you this type of sound. Preamp :- UA Solo 610 Mic :- Peluso 2247 Adding a tracking compressor like the FMR PBC-6a or Golden Age COMP54 will also help thicken things up!

Need Mic Preamp Under $1000 for Rap Vocals mostly but also Harmonizing at times.

For around £1000 you could look at getting a Great River ME-1NV which seem to be the most popular recommendations! I am using a UA Solo 610, Focusrite ISA One and Presonus Eureka which I really like. They all sound very different but are all quality preamps! I would presonally look at...
