Help me. I just got done mixing a Christmas project. After mixing down all the tracks and getting everything to 16-bit 44.1 for cd I open up Nero and get ready to burn my cd. Nero burns it without a hitch. i take it downstairs to listen on the home system. I get pops! Digital distortion...

How do you install/build...hmm...how do I say it? How would I use the insulation technique (instead of foam) and still make it look good. :) I still dont know if I asked that properly.

Re: foil... Ground your shield to the system ground. Which, ultimately, is the same as the cards ground. But, you want to NOT touch the card as much as possible. So, make it a system ground on the motherboard. Im assuming you can find that ground! :D

And one more clarification. Dont let the aluminum foil touch the soundcard...in fact, once I had my shield built I ran a line to ground which grounded the shield. This helped too. Maybe I am saying too much. Slack is going to blast me. Just buy a new card.

Well, save for the Aardvark by all means! But, in the meantime...what you want to do is shield the whole card or at least where the a/d converters reside.

I dont have any personal experience with the Digi001, but several friends of mine have had really bad experiences with the unit. That being said...I also have one friend here in Tulsa who uses it and loves it. Go figure. That probably wasnt much help. Sorry.
