Is there like some standard I should be shooting for. I am covering up some old windows and a door from the inside of my space using insulation and drywall and I have the option of covering those up from the outside also if needed. Im guessing that if I cant hear stuff leaking in once im done...
I have a US-1800, I use a PC and Reaper, never had any problems at all and the sounds I get are respectable . Having said that Im guessing almost everyone will agree that the pre's in the focusrite are better and in fact that's the next interface I plan on getting,18i20, if I ever can save up...
I enjoyed the song and I thought the mix was good. My only nitpick is I didn't like the sound of the crash cymbal and I thought it was used too much after the bridge. Less would have been more IMO.
Room treatment is always gonna come up when a new guy starts asking about improving their skill set and rightfully so, sooner or later you are going to have to address it and at the very least acknowledge it so you can compensate when needed. You can learn what your listening space is doing to...
Yes I plan on setting up with the windows in front of me as a start with some heavy curtains or maybe like some gobos that I could move around if needed.
I need to go back to the space and take some pictures and measurements .
Im looking at a place to rehearse and record in that has some pretty big windows ,all on one side, of two rooms.
Im not looking to do extensive treatment but I am concerned about reflections while monitoring/mixing. My thought is to hang some heavy ass curtains and set up against the windowed...
I just got a Dell laptop, i5 windows 8 , the only thing Ive done so far is add some more memory for a total of 12gb. I am still getting use to 8 but my interface synced right up and everything has been stable so far running 27tracks with the minimum of eq and compression on all tracks

The first I noticed when I played them awhile last night was how much softer they felt.
I sometimes have a tendency to get lost in the music and get carried away while playing so Im thinking maybe I should just flip these cymbals before I destroy them?
Ok I scored a sweet deal on some zildjians , I got :
20 medium ride A custom
18 fast crash A custom
17 K hybrid
16 crash A custom
14 HH A custom
All for $550.00
Little bit dirty but no flea bites or anything , god I love craigslist!
RUDES are way to heavy for my taste now. I still love 2002's , at least thins , anything heavier and the sustain gets on my nerves. Im getting a sweet deal on some A customs , I'll post some pics later if the deal holds up.
Since my first drum set Ive always played Paiste cymbals, and since then Ive played almost all their lines, 602-2000-2002-3000-rude-signiture-dark energy-& twenty's. Now I just have some 2002's and some second generation twenty series cymbals. Im bored with these and want to try out some new...
Well it was 2 8gb sticks , one may have been good but I sent both back since they came together and I didn't want to mess with it. Hopefully the replacements will be ok!
Ive replaced ram in laptops and towers quite a few times but yesterday was the first time I ever had a bad stick.(laptop) Scared the shit out of me , after booting up just a black screen and weird beeps, I thought I may have shorted something out even though I had my static thingy on.
Anyway...
Ive had a 1641 for awhile now and have been happy with it so far. When a dear friend of mine passed away he left me his 1800 which he never used. I never bothered hooking it up until now because I figured it was the same interface with a different number ,but after firing it up this weekend I...
